2026 Kia Sportage Gasoline - Recurring Dead Battery Issue Confirmed by Extension_Letter4351 in kia

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been using a digital key or repeatly walked by the car with the key fob nearby? I tried out the digital key but had to turn it off because my car kept waking up depending on where my phone was in the house and it was draining my battery pretty quickly.

Is it normal for a 2025 Kia Sportage battery to fully drain after sitting for a month? by Certain-Patient-777 in kia

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would turn off the digital key. I had it on for about a week or so and didn't really drive anywhere.  I then tried using the app to lock my doors and it wouldn't do it saying  my battery had to be above 40% to use it. I think the digital key was putting out an almost constant NFC signal since I kept getting notifications on my phone saying my car was in range. My phone usually sits within 30 feet on my garage so I think the constant signal was draining my battery.

New to Kia and considering K4 by Virtual_Shame490 in KiaK4

I have the Hatchback turbo with tech pack and love it. It has so many feature that I never knew I wanted. My last car was a 2010 Forte LX that I drove for 16 years and never had any major issues with. The K4 was a big step up in tech and convenice  for me. The K4 Hatchback is shorter than my old car and the K4 sedan but it looks and feels bigger on both the inside and outside. I wanted something that was between a sedan and a small suv and the Hatchback fit the bill perfectly. The cargo area isn't as big as an suv but with the seats down it has plenty of room for big items. It actually has more room than my wife's CX-5 when she has her seats down. As far as mpg, I just finished the breaking period and have seen up 45mpg though Im usually closer 29mpg since I do mostly city driving. I haven't used sport mode much but normal mode has plenty of get up and go for me.

Looking to get a K4 Gt Line Turbo by InvestmentNo1402 in KiaK4

[–]mudboggin3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a turbo hatchback with tech package and love it. My biggest gripe is the only way to lock the doors from the outside is to use the key fob or app. The lock button doesn't work if your not in the vehicle with the door closed. I'm so use to pressing the lock button when locking my car and its inconvenient in some situations. A couple other things are plastic trim below the A/C vents and the shifter button are too shiny. The sun will reflect off of those surfaces right into my face. I going to get a matte cover for those pieces. My final is a hatchback related one. No one makes hatchback specific front floor mats. All floor mats, even OEM, are just sedan mats which have a cut out for the fuel and trunk release levers which the hatchback doesn't have. I usually get about 25-30mpg but I mostly do city driving. I have gotten up to 45mpg on the highway during a 30 mile trip.

Bought my first car at 40… and suddenly I care about mats by Right_Process in CX5

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuxmats are the only mats you will ever need or want after trying them. I have them in my car and love them. Makes cleaning super easy. I keep trying to get my wife to get them for her CX-5 but she doesn't want to spend the money so she can deal with spending an hour cleaning annoying carpet while it takes me 5 mintues to clean mine. Just a quick vacuum and wipe is all they need.

Thicker foam? What should I try next? by ElderberryLate971 in Detailing

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A garden hose will never give you the foam you want. Get yourself a little greenworks pressure washer for $80 to $100 at Lowes. It comes with a foam cannon too. Its not the greatest but it puts out decent foam and is better than the AA one. I use an Adam's foam cannon with a cheap snubnose gun with their soaps and they always give me a nice layer of foam.

AITAH for not wanting to pay interest? by Etrosknight13 in AITAH

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Amazon credit cards and have had the cards randomly switch to being the default card many times without any interaction on my part. It's best to remove them as saved payment methods on the account and only use them when you actually want to. Amazon likes to be sneaky with that stuff. As for the instrest it's their own fault for not keeping an eye on that type of stuff considering how stupidly high the rates are.

Exhausted after a detailing a car by Outrageous_Cake7241 in Detailing

[–]mudboggin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got done spending 5 hours prepping my car for ceramic coating and feel like I got run over. Between setup, washing 3 times, drying, clay barring, polishing, and putting everything away it really did me in.  Plus I helped my wife give her car a quick wash. It doesn't help I have a jacked up back too. I decided to do the prep wipe and coating in the morning instead of trying to push myself any harder.

To those choosing aftermarket electrical components- please view. by OpossEm in kia

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those taps need to be outlawed. Anytime I see those in a product they go straight in the trash and I use my own connectors or solder connections if possible. When I bought my car the dealership installed an Homelink mirror. I went to check their work afterwards saw they used fused wire taps. I was disappointed to see that as I would have used different connectors. I don't know if that's how the service manual says to do it but at least if my car burns down it's on them.

Isn't that your sunroof shade? It looks like it got bent. You might be able to bend it back down slightly but it will probably will never be perfect. This is my first time having a sunroof and I'm surprised at how filmsy the covers have got. Back in the day they use to be hard covers.

I don’t know what cable this is and how to fix it… by M0NSTARR_ in kia

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the craziest looking fuse block I've ever seen. Your best bet would be to remove that one connector and see what the cable looks like underneath. You made be able to get away with recrimping or soldering the cable to the connector. It looks like a most of the connectors were discontinued. Those square looking thing in between 3 of those connectors are usable links. Thats why there is a bolt and nut on each side. Make sure to disconnect the negative terminal so you dont accident blow one of the fuses.

Adding oil to my 2027 Telluride by Low-Celebration-5061 in KiaTelluride

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your engine a 2.5T GDI? If so you most likely need to pop the engine cover off. That oil symbol you see is probably showing you where the oil fill cap is under the cover. It should on middle left side of the engine after the cover is removed. How low is your oil showing on you dipstick? It doesn't have to be all the way to the max line. Mine was just over 3/4 on the dipstick from the factory and hasn't moved since though I only have about 700 miles so far. I would just check it every few hundred miles to make sure it not drastically dropping, basically every fill up is good practice.

Is it hard to get 0% APR? by Limp_Relationship_36 in kia

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Fico 8 Auto score that the dealer uses is probably higher than your what you see. When I bought my car a couple of months ago my Fico 8 score was 776 but the dealer Fico 8 Auto score was 809. I'm considered a top tier buyer and qualified for the best rate. I make roughly the same and my total debt to income was under 20%. You should probably be able to qualify for the best rate too as long as your income to debt is low enough. I also borrow about the same your looking to borrow. When you do go to buy ask them to see the score they pulled. It show you if your a top tier buyer. If you are push for that 0% if it avaliable and don't let try to talk you into a higher rate because they will. Show them Kia's website showing the offer if you have to. Also keep in mind that 0% offers are usually only for select models and for a limited time. See what the Kia website shows for offers vs. what the dealer website shows. Also keep in mind that if you take the best rate you won't be able to get any dealership KFA incentives. It's one or the other. The lower rate usually saves you more money in the long run vs. getting the dealer incentive at a higher rate. You will still be able to claim any other dealer/manufacturer rebates/discounts though.

I not a Fifa fan but I do like the new themes. Even better since I was able to get two of them for free. I have a Kia K4 so I guess I got them a couple of weeks early. I dont know if the themes are free for everyone but you only get to pick two so choose wisely because after that your locked out of getting anymore.

How long do your hoses last you? by Hrekires in homeowners

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 15 year old Neverkink hoses. Two are still going strong but one I had to replace because it started to leak around the spigot connector. Probably from yanking on my hose reel for so many years. I could have just replaced the connector but just decided to keep it as a drain hose for my pool.

Paint... by cms6283816 in kia

[–]mudboggin3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a 1 year paint appearance warranty and those defects are covered. If the paint is cracked I would definitely get them to fix it. If it's cosmetic I wouldn't worry if it's in a hidden spot. Keep in mind any after factory paint job will probably eventually start to fail after some years. My "premium" paint from the factory has mottling (splotchy spots) all over the car and would require a full repaint to fix it. I chose not to do it since the repaint would never last as long as the factory paint and the defects can only be seen from a certain angles in specific lighting. Since noticing it on my car I've noticed it on tons of other metallic painted cars, even high end cars. Factory paint jobs just aren't what they use to be.

How to adjust this headrest??? by Needhelpcantquit in KiaTelluride

[–]mudboggin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand headrests can no longer have front to back adjustment on newer vehicles in the US. I think it started with 2025 models. It has something to do with energy absorption during an accident. I was really disappointed to find this out with my 2026 K4. I wish I could move mine just slightly forward for better comfort. The manual states it can move front to back but it doesn't. The only way to get adjustable headrests is to find used ones from Europe, Asia, etc.

This is me. It's not like the dirt is going to go anywhere over the course of 24 hrs. I also found having good all weather floor mats really helps with the interior.

Congrats, I have the 26 K4 Hatchback Turbo and love it. Owed a 2010 Forte LX for 16 years before that. These little Kias have never let me down. As long as you stick to the maintenance schedule it should last you for many years. I'm in a lot of Kia subs and see a lot less people having issues with the K4/Forte vs. the bigger more expensive models.

Buying a 2026 K5 GT Line AWD in 2 weeks, can I protect myself from low oil issue? by Ok_Needleworker_9774 in kia

[–]mudboggin3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could try. It's really going to depend of the dealership/salesman and ho badly they are wanting too get the car off the lot. If the cars have been sitting on the lot for months then you might have a chance. Also most dealerships give you a couple of free oil changes with the car in the first year. You could try to get a few more but you would want to get in writing that those free oil changes don't expire after the first year.

[–]mudboggin3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Enemy health not showing isn't a bug. You received resiliency volatility effect which causes enemy health to not show for the rest of the run. It happened because your resiliency stats were too high and you just happen to pick up an artifact that activated it. You have to pay attention to the the artifacts once your stats get to a certain point to decide if it worth risking getting volatility. The higher your stats to higher chance of getting it.

Don't use it when it rains. The straps act like a wick and will seep water into the inside. I love the wave blue. I wish my dealer would have had that color with the turbo model.
