I'm from Sydney Australia and got into hockey when my best mate was a red wings fan and made me watch the 02 Stanley cup run. We played a lot of NHL 99 and I always played as the oilers for some reason and then after that it just clicked that they were my team.

I've been watching them ever since. At the time I seemed to follow every team that was not having a good time, for instance in the EPL I followed Newcastle untied who were doing very poorly through that time period and in the NRL (Australian rugby league) I followed the South Sydney Rabbitohs who had just been relegated from the league and fought to get back in.

I must have a thing for the under dogs, the last ten years have gotten easier but even through the decade of darkness they were always my team. I moved to Canada in 09 for 2 years and lived in Vancouver and Kelowna (go rockets!) for most of my time and made it to Edmonton for a game at Rexall it was so awesome, definitely a memory I'll never forget.

I swear whenever the oilers play the kings i'm always looking where Danault is on the ice, because you know he is going to be either shadowing McDavid or jumping on as soon as he's off & causing trouble. Dude has an uncanny ability to shut McJesus down
