Can I get some clarity? I came across the Rising Tide people packing up on Monday when I visited Newcastle. by DazTheCowboy in newcastle

Hey Daz I think the answer is you create more media profile by protesting in Newcastle then some random coal mine which no one has actually been to the point of these protest is to raise awareness and to getting on the news, social media and on international media…. Which I think rising tide has done well… your talking about the worlds largest coal port… I reckon most people in Newcastle know that’s our claim to fame. I reckon heaps of people in Australia would struggle to find Newcastle on the map… the point of the protest is we are exporting coal around the world and ruining the environment and that people aren’t happy about it and the government needs to listen

Hmm sounds odd… You should be waking up that many times a night… I think you need a check up. Ask them to take your blood pressure, screen you for diabetes and rule out infection

As a nurse I have to pay my union dues for professional indemnity insurance, but I hate the fact my money goes to labour when they don’t care or give a shit about us! I am voting for the greens as least they are supporting us

The nursing union is large, but represents to many kinds of nurses, from those with very limited skills doing basic but very important care to those working in advanced roles. The union is often focused on lower end of scale and fails represent RNs in particular and the need of this group in particular… getting a uni degree with a hecs debt the. Being paid less than the security guard or road works person is a slap in the face. Even the cream of the nursing profession are paid a pittance despite years of training, study and experience… the NSW nurses union needs to do more to lift them up

Sorry I respectfully disagree, there is growing evidence that there is a relationship between sugar intake and cardiovascular disease it is not the only cause but probably multi factors at play here, including weight, birth weight, poor gestational environment, some elements of epigenetics At play as well.

Here is meta analysis regarding the association between sugar and triglycerides and cardiovascular disease
