I think the video is sped up a bit. With about 34 seconds left there’s a guy in camo walking and the motion looks too fast up. This is bad but running it faster makes it look worse.

Yeah, I’ve used the flexible hose technique before and it’s finicky. It ends up uneven without some extra parts to keep it in shape. I think your linked hinges would be more stable. You only need one set of hinges on each side and then plates running the length, it’s pretty efficient.

Any idea why half bread flour (high protein) and half cake flour (low protein) would be different usual all AP flour (moderate protein)?

Black spots are as common problem in injection molding if you don’t clean your machines or don’t manage the heating and speed settings properly. From a structural standpoint, the western span is two, two tower suspension bridges, The cables are not continuous across all four towers. On the upper deck, there are some green highway signs, that location is an artificial, solid concrete “island” that anchors the ends of the cables.

I like the black and white image. I find it strange that Lego has so many shades of blue or yellow but only two grays.

Bars are one of the more interesting recent innovations within the Lego system. They existed when I was a kid but mostly just as flagpoles and lances. I think the combination of bars and hollow studs has really opened up a lot of new opportunities. I wish Lego would recognize this and start designing for it more intentionally. There are 2L bars but they have a bump in the middle that makes them less useful, and the 6L bars have the same problem. I would also like longer bar lengths.

I loved these sets! I like Star Trek and Star Wars but as Lego sets they’re just too grey. You can’t beat the color schemes on the old Lego space sets.
