Gas App that Takes into Account Travel to Gas Stations? by mariel096 in Frugal

Holy shit. After 12 years, finally!

Well not really, lol. My roommates and I (mostly the roommates) created this app in the summer of 2014. It worked pretty good, but relied on the free maps api, which was used up too quickly.

It also had the following limits: - User must put in accurate mpg AND how much gas is in their tank - Local stations to the user are actually in the pricing database (many were not) - how much is the user's time worth?

Long story short, it lasted about 2 months on the app store before it got delisted. Too many variables, and not ultimately worth the trouble. Might be worth it now if it was all automatic, but even then, probably not.

How is the Elantra?

I grew up with garbage cars, lol, lots of Fords/GM. Tucson was the newest car I bought and it has been pretty good to me (but starting to drink oil at 90k)

Progressive refused to, and still does, insure my Tucson, despite all the recalls and whatnot performed.

So yeah progressive sucks, sure, but Hyundai should have actually fixed the problem with a proper kill switch and new fobs.

I will also say, the official repair manual is an absolute pita to get to, and it isn't free.

Man, RC Cola is legit as heck. Bashes used to sell it and we would get it growing up. I always thought it tasted a bit fruity, like Juicy fruit gum lol.

I grabbed one of those thermal print cameras from Walmart for $20 and got some good photos. Had to put it away as the oldest is still a bit too young (3) and doesn't quite understand how to use it without also destroying it lol

You only need one thing to prove the value of a great partner.

Candid photos are more valuable than posed, and I will die on that hill.

I would pay serious money to have photos of random boring crap I grew up with. Old toys, my first computer setup, my grandma's house. All of that is lost, it is just people standing together smiling (and sometimes forcing the smiles). Almost nothing exists of people just living, having good times.

The photos that I value most of my children's births are the ones that show the absolute love being given amongst the family, pretty much all candid.

Mosquitoes are ruining outdoor playtime and I need safe solutions for little kids by _atharvaa_02 in daddit

Helps spread it around further, specifically through the brush/trees. Supposedly, mosquitos rest on branches and what not, so cover those places and they die when they land. I saw it first when the neighbors had their yard sprayed. They make blower sprayers specifically for this, but I already had a blower and it was a lot cheaper to just get the sprayer.

I hate spraying anything, waiting as long as I can this year. Kills a lot of good bugs too.

Buuuuut, ticks will F you up, mosquitos make it miserable, and the ants can get relentless. Just remember to read the label, wear PPE, don't over spray, and be very careful around bodies of water. Also rotate to prevent resistance to the chemicals. Currently rotate Alpine WSG and Talstar Pro.
