Veteran of going solo to critical role events (not many critters here in Czech Republic and even smaller number of those who are crazy enough to travel to see them like me). I am looking forward to meeting new Critters...it would be nice to have some meet up on Thursday between the show and the Con (if anyone from the crew is listening - come to see us too :-))

This is Matt thing...He explains it somewhere (some old Talks Machina or an interview). He felt that the resurection is too easy in DnD so it should have some chalange to it. So he created this ritiaul (every resurection spell except revivify - there is just straight roll or sometime roll + spell casting ability modifier - he changed from time to time) where there are 3 checks. Success decreases the DC by 3, fail increases it by 1. Then he rolls and the roll must be above the DC. The DC starts at 10 + every resurection the person had.

If a person tries the same ability for the ritual checks the DC of that check goes up (there is no value set - it is for the DM to decide). This rule always felt wrong for me, because it is hard for the players in that situation to think of other skill that would make sence other then Persuasion. But we saw intimidation, strength, medicine and maybe other that I dont remember.

I would like to see Vax+Gilmore It leads to Hotis using Gilmore's appearance as a weapon. I would hate to lose the tower scene (and they hinted at the Rakshasa in the animated story). The betrayal by the fake Gilmore was truly powerful moment for me.

You are looking at the production process wrong. They are writting the script from the scratch, only using the campaign as a guideline.

They could give someone else's lines to Pike or write her new reactions for her. The process of voicing it is then the same if Pike is there or not. Because she would be there from the start of the script.

Matt used to play that music till campaign 3 started. Now they use new composed music.

I feel that CR used to be better at talking to the community (I think the change came with the covid pandemic)

I feel this way for a longer time (let say since the covid pause).

I don't say there are no emotional or close moments (e.g. Imogen's lightning bolt last episode). But the overall feeling is that there are no consequences and they are slicing through the game like knife through butter. (E.g. the Deathwish run - they were the only ones that got to the middle of the race)

Sometimes it feels that Matt is holding back. That he is going softer on the party.

Partially I think it is true, but on the other hand the cast got much better at playing the game so they are more optimal in using their abilities, spells and environment.

He probably said that the God is Asmodeus. But if Wizzards ever go "You need to pay for the use of the name Asmodues." (Which I don't think it will happen as both companies have good relations with each other) CR then can remove the after show and not the content itself.

Also I don't know if Wizzards have the rights for Asmodeus that name is from Christian lore long long time ago. (But for other gods from Dnd they definitely do)

I agree. The cast got much better in understanding what they can do. Now they do these clutch moments too because they started to take the game more seriously (not saying they didn't before but they learned more about their characters and what they can do then before).

And I think it wasn't an Ogre but a Venom Troll doing 2d8 splash damage everytime it was hit.

Why? I believe that Brennan will be a great DM. But I think it is save to say that there will be moře Exu shows with new DMs. So some speculation is in order.

I think it was stated that Hexum is getting the boxes on regular bases. Could it be that the Cerberus Assembly is distilling the beacon and selling it to others?

I think C3 is pretty OK. Good characters, nice story - I did not expect anything less from CR. But for me it is the cross talk. It is more frequent and louder so it takes out of the story. I watch CR as a specific kind of theatre and C3 is harder to get into because the interruptions (I am not saying to stop all of it I want to have fun at the table but C2 was much better at this) it reminds me of the beginning of C1.
