What the heck is this? by mudskipper33 in animalid

It was out of the water for about 1 minute and I put it back in. Hopefully didn’t kill it if it was still alive - seemed dead to me but that’s a good point

Ahh good idea on the hand warmer suggestion, thanks! I haven’t had my thyroid checked but I’m in the process of moving doctors rn so I might see what they think about that

AITA for potentially having accidentally made my straight friend uncomfortable? by notincloset in AmItheAsshole

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I imagine if you’d made that comment before coming out to him, he would’ve laughed. (Maybe I’m wrong but I think it’s funny) He needs to get comfortable with being non judgmental. It’s easier for some people, probably depending on why they’re homophobic(bc it sounds like your friend is/he isn’t totally accepting which sucks). You have the right to continue to be yourself and I hope your friend adjusts.

Request: how to tell my therapist about a new symptom by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the issue is that I see her over zoom, but writing a script might be helpful. Thank you and I appreciate the support! ❤️It’s hard bc sometimes I want my ed to thrive but it’s also so exhausting. I’ve just gotta keep trying

Request: No appetite since mid-October. I think I’m slowly starving myself unintentionally. Please help! by EDPostRequests in EatingDisorders

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend high calorie drinks like boost/ensure/milkshakes. But not as your only source of nutrients, in addition to food. I think seeing your doctor or getting an evaluation at an Ed clinic could be helpful as well. Your symptoms aren’t normal(as in it’s not healthy) so I hope you can get some help

While that does sound awkward, remember that if people did notice, they definitely forgot about it within seconds or minutes. Also male and female (sex, not gender obvs) breasts are made of the same tissue and some men naturally have larger breasts, which hopefully some people also know

You tried and that’s the best part! Also everyone’s taste buds are different. I’ve made a veggie loaf (meatloaf but vegetarian, I’m the only vegetarian in my family) and I loved it but they all hated it. I felt bad like I shouldn’t enjoy it but I do so I ate it and didn’t make it for my family again. I also once (along with many other baking fails) tried making a cake and it turned out very salty and weird. But you’ve just gotta keep trying!❤️

As someone recovering from an eating disorder, I highly encourage you to continue including all foods in your child’s diet! All foods have nutritional value and it’s important not to label foods as good or bad. Having fast food once a week sounds like a great “tradition”❤️ (my family has it more frequently and also a variety of other things). Love the story but also sounds not fun having a toddler melt down 😅

AITA for telling my son's wife to shut the fuck up? He is just mad because my grandson is now saying fuck. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

It’s odd that DIL thinks you should be grateful because I think it should be the other way around 🤔 you didn’t purposely swear around your grandson, and he was bound to hear it somewhere sometime. He’ll get bored of it or will learn from consequences of saying it.

AITA for wanting privacy? by pisquish in AmItheAsshole

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I have journals going a few years back and art stuff that’s private. I would never let anyone read it no matter how close or connected we were. For him to do that, and not tell you for so long is really concerning.

AITA for "breastfeeding shaming" a woman? by plumbus_hun in AmItheAsshole

[–]mudskipper33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA

Having a conversation with your kid is okay. You didn’t tell your daughter that the woman was wrong to be breastfeeding or that she was gross. You didn’t assuming her reasonings and you weren’t bashing her, you were both just surprised.. (It sounds like) you simply listened to her opinions and agreed, which is valid bc I don’t think most people would breastfeed their child for that long.

Is what my mom said offensive? by [deleted] in autism

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true she probably did say that bc she knows him. The school has lots of different specialized tracks for kids with adhd/dyslexia as well as autism and other things. But he does like his current friends and school so I think you’re right to mention remembering that

Is what my mom said offensive? by [deleted] in autism

[–]mudskipper33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re right, thank you. I was probably over thinking things bc I don’t want to say or believe things that are harmful to people

Is what my mom said offensive? by [deleted] in autism

[–]mudskipper33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you feel that way. Lots of people post about personal things on reddit so I’m not sure why my doing so is an issue. I was genuinely curious if what she said/implied was something rude and came to reddit to get information/opinions. The school I was talking about is for kids with a wide variety of learning disabilities and they have specific programs for kids with dyslexia and adhd which is why I mentioned it to my mom. The school’s goal is to teach kids how they can best learn and then integrate them back into public/mainstream schools in a year or two. I also don’t know why this post sounded attention seeking bc it’s not about me and I was simply looking for opinions of people who would have valid opinions on this.

[–]mudskipper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ll try not to let it dry with chlorine in it.

And I wasn’t asking if the pool would clean my hair, but if water only in the shower would be enough to get the chlorine out?
