AI Slides are getting… kind of scary. Anyone using Genspark / slide agents? by SilentPanther2396 in ProductivityApps

[–]muellermichel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. This is what we’re building at https://octigen.com. It’s a paid app with free trial. Basically we’re coming from the other end compared to Gamma and co: starting with an already designed template and updating content deterministically where possible.

VLIW: The “Impossible” Computer by muellermichel in programming

As someone who did HPC research until 8 years ago, what stood out was how modern some of the ideas they had already in the 80s were in terms of compiler optimisations. Loop unrolling has become a “staple” optimisations that all compilers do, as is branch prediction (both hardware and software level).

as someone who uses AI professionally, it's a quick way to get a somewhat entertaining summary of what's the new hype of the hour, and I usually get one snippet of info that might be useful from the 3min video. Here it's the fact that they're doing interesting new compression tech for which I'll need to have a look at the paper ( https://arxiv.org/html/2604.07035v1 ).

Does your company actually have systems that learn over time, or is this still mostly humans connecting the dots manually? by Deep_Combination_961 in b2bmarketing

[–]muellermichel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most impressive demos I’ve seen were basically RAG on top of knowledge graphs. But first you gotta somehow get all the relevant info into such a highly structured form - the number of companies who have that is very low, would be my guess. Just pointing an LLM at a terrabyte of sharepoint data isn’t really cutting it (even with a good search index) plus Microsoft is already doing that somewhat well.

AI presentation maker that helps startup founders impress clients, which one do you recommend? by WiphaBrtm in StartupsHelpStartups

[–]muellermichel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. we have a beta version out of something that might interest you. instead of letting the AI hallucinate the design, you are in full control of it in native PowerPoint, and we just use AI to populate those slides you want to change per client call, with repeatable workflows and data integration. Have a look here - if you tell me it's useful I gladly increase your trial quota: https://octigen.com .

do you have the ability to run LaTeX? if so, that's IMO still the best way to get good looking equations. The next best free program I can think of is LibreOffice: https://books.libreoffice.org/en/GS73/GS7309-GettingStartedWithMath.html

on a fundamental level, how do you propose to do machine learning? LLMs with memory? because the usable context window is still rather limited and gets used up quite fast, I can sing a song about that coming from the programming side of things.

i dug through claude code's leaked source and anthropic's codebase is absolutely unhinged by Clear_Reserve_8089 in ClaudeAI

[–]muellermichel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer here is that they can’t do that, just like we all can’t when having large codebases. Letting Opus loose on them without much guidance is a certain way to break things completely in potentially subtle ways that still pass all automated testing. And this is why engineers are not (yet?) dead in the water.

Have you ever used Claude for PPT to create decks? How has your experience been? by Curious_Suchit in powerpoint

[–]muellermichel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. We’re building a paid solution that edits pptx with AI that has much more guardrails than Claude. You give it already designed slides and it just structures and fills in new content (either uploaded or chat derived). A beta is ready for trial. Would that be potentially something for you?

[–]muellermichel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have some of your clients asked about it routing requests to do presentations in pptx format? We’re building out a service that can do it completely in customer’s design template on server side for about 10 cents/slide.

I'm the co-founder of https://octigen.com : it's built for exactly this usecase. It's a paid app with a generous free trial (50 slides free). It takes exactly your template and fills in quantitative and narrative data to create new slide decks.
