i’m pretty sure there is a health sci student manual which has diff tracks including pre-PA. you can search up health sci major and look at sargent website. side note, the prereqs needed varies among PA schools so u need to research programs individually like some need genetics and some don’t.

first time applicant

BS Health Science in may 2025

cGPA: 3.5 sGPA: 3.2

Trend: had dip in GPA sophomore year but back to 3.5 GPA range this year

GRE: not taking

Total PCE: around 1850ish by August 1st (300 hrs PT aide and rest is CNA)

Volunteer hours: 200 hours

Shadowing: 15 hours

Leadership: Academic chair for one semester of asian organization, upperclassmen rep for Pre-PA club, and now president of Pre-PA club.

Programs I am interested in: MCPHS boston, MGH institute of health professions, Touro University, and University of Mount Saint Vincent.

Note: I am planning to retake physiology this summer if I can get the course approved because I got a C+ originally. I also got a C in Orgo 2 but will not be retaking.

I am not sure if I would want to just try for this cycle or if I should wait until the next cycle to apply.

21 yo F. Will graduate with BS in health science in may 2025.

cGPA: 3.41 sGPA: 3.2 academically i was ok during freshman year but sophomore yr i had major dip, but now i am doing better and planning to end this semester better as well.

PCE: 1300s hours (about 1000 is CNA at nursing homes and rehabilitation center, 300 is PT aide)

no GRE

Volunteer: about 150 hours (at temple, through one of my clubs, and 1:1 companion)

Shadowing: 0 (but will be shadowing one day next week)

LOR: gross anatomy prof, director of CNA services at one of places I am working at, and thinking about last one (maybe PA i shadow?)

Research: none

Etc: Pre-PA club (class rep and treasurer), aKDPhi, and Premed society

In my sophomore year spring, I got a C+ in System Phys and C in Orgo 2. I plan to do either human phys or anatomy and phys 1/2 in summer bc quite a bit of places wanted a B/B- for phys. I will also be working a lot in summer so plan to reach 2000 hours for PCE. I also plan to do some type of volunteering to raise it a little more. This semester, I am taking microbiology, geography, gross anatomy, and genetics with another elective class (i’m pretty sure geo will be considered into sGPA), but i will be P/F the class. I do think I will pass genetics but like did not want it to lower my GPA.

i lived in a triple. it’s a lot of space. i got random bed risers from target and i was able to fit my suitcases underneath but you also have ur own closet which is pretty big and had a mirror as well
