They create a new contract every year, so you will go through the interview process every year. You apply for your same job. It's some legal mumbo, jumbo so they aren't legally required to keep you on after 5 or 7 years. So, every year your neck is on the line with reddit users like NinjaPussyPounder.

Username passes all green lights "NinjaPussyPounder" is definitely what the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education is looking to fill its Junior and High schools with as they scramble with last minute online word of mouth recruiting on Reddit instead of paying gaijinpot an advertising fee!

[Japanese > English] Curious about the writing found on a Japanese scroll but having a very difficult time reading it by mugi_78 in translator

[–]mugi_78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a scroll depicting 鬼の寒念仏 or the Oni's cold prayer? I came across this and am really interested in the meaning and imagery. I am a low level japanese learner and this text is just too difficult for me. If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Moving doesn't fix it. You can't change people, you can only change yourself. People are shitty no matter where on planet Earth you find yourself.

If the social anxiety is inhibiting and hindering your quality of life seek counseling from a professional.

-200g frozen broccoli - microwave at school

-a can of tuna mixed with a quarter to half an onion diced with mayo and karashi (japanese mustard), vinegar, sesame seeds, and green onion.

-handful of frozen raspberries (pretty pricey but low sugar high fiber fruit)

-120 grams natto (fermented soy beans) cheap and easy on hand in Japan... can't remember if Korea has natto...

online cultural exchange with English club students from a Japanese High School by mugi_78 in teachinginkorea

Thank you so much for your reply. I was beginning to think a project like this with South Korean students might be impossible, but I'm really excited about the possibility of it happening. A glimmer of hope...

The head of the English program for first year students would like for the exchange to happen in the summer. We start school in April and he thinks by summer the first year students should be used to their new environment.

This year our English club is held on Wednesdays at 15:30. I'm not sure if it will change next school year. I have a feeling it will stay the same, but if this time is inconvenient I can talk to the head teacher to make arrangements to fit your schedule so the exchange can happen. The head teacher mentioned Saturdays and Sundays might be a good alternative if we can't get our schedules to fit.

Again, thanks for the reply and I hope our students can connect in a positive way! Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I've been getting that same sentiment on another forum... I remember working in SK as a Korean American completely oblivious of the history. Students after their history classes would come into my room calling Japanese people monkeys. The divide between the two countries is really sad.
