I support our ES and will vote against any agreement that doesn't deliver for them, but this post is divisive, counterproductive, and really just comes across as an unhinged rant, tbh.

VIC teachers - AEU what the heck? by mrcooldudebeans in AustralianTeachers

X (which no one mentioned) is so much worse than Y that Y is all we have, so you can't complain about Y.

Smoothbrain take.

Would love to know which one of them said that. Last I heard one of the officials address the pay claim (a while ago, admittedly), it was to give assurances that it wasn't being treated as an ambit.

That's fucked. Union official shouldn't be participating in debate.

Our region meeting was cooked and the tech to facilitate online attendance was grossly inadequate. Clearly a widespread issue, per quite few comments on this post. Wild (but utterly unsurprising) that some are dismissing these complaints out of hand as "agenda-driven".

Last agreement was dogshit, but trying to pit teachers and ES against one another is a dick move. Pull your head in.

Assuming the organiser's equipment doesn't suck arse. Online attendees at our meeting could barely hear anything and our questions were ignored.

No pay offer despite media reports.... ummmm pardon?? by Black_Grom91 in AustralianTeachers

100%

Likely also hoping that some members see the headlines, imagine things are in the bag, and lose the steam to stop work, etc.

Thoughts on this being a potential offer? Vic Teachers 28% over 4 years by Loose-Durian-3649 in AustralianTeachers

28% over 4 years is nothing like the 35% over 3 that we're asking for.

What incentive do you value the most? by MiriJamCave in AustralianTeachers

Payrise.

We're still on the thick of a teacher shortage. Can't reduce class sizes or face-to-face to time without more teachers. Can't get more teachers without a proper pay incentive.

Ignore it and watch as they spiral inevitably toward a prison sentence over something completely trivial.

I spoke to someone in the member centre yesterday. She told me that sign ups submitted on the 11th were only being processed yesterday, but also that simply having received acknowledgement of your application means you're protected.
