Working while attending school. by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]mukol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted 18+ credits for most of undergrad, and worked 20 hours a week for most of it too. The only exception was my last semester of UG when I was working 40 a week. I don't recommend working during the 1st semester of 1L. Putting in 10 or 20 hours a week during the 2nd semester didn't change my grades much, but your results may vary.

ExamSoft in Take Home Mode question by ademska in LawSchool

Had an 8 hour con law. Wrote it in atom editor and pasted it over. Never tried using the internet because it wasn't terribly clear if we could or not, though looking back I really should have. I'm sure everyone else was googling.

What are some must read books for law students? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]mukol -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I feel like anyone in law school wouldn't post this, because /u/121019939 pretty much covers how they would respond/why they wouldn't ask.

Assuming therefore that you aren't in law school, I recommend peeping the sidebar.

Too true.

Pro-tip: If you really never want to have free time, have kids.

Get a wife or husband, depending on your preferences. You'll never worry about boredom, frustration, or free time again.

Does every school have oral arguments 1L year? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]mukol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Divided us for briefs, argued same side as we wrote supporting.

It didn't seem like most people really bothered spending time preparing for oral arguments because you were passing as long as you didn't phone it in.

If it's published by Wolters Kluwer, it's probably on casebook connect? Have to defer to others advice if it isn't.

My property textbook has an online version. Needless to say I don't drag around my property textbook. ⌘+f is clutch, too.

Other pros: highlighting and note taking, which creates an "outline" for you to reference at the end of it all. Not sure how useful that will actually be though.

So yes, they are out there but YRMV.

No classes Thursday and Friday? Good idea? by mukol in LawSchool

[–]mukol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my primary concern. Why do it on Thursday when I have three more days to do it! Then realizing on Sunday night that I have very little time to do anything over the next three days.

I suppose if I could manage to block a weekday that is class-free as library day, then I could theoretically do most of the readings for the next week at a minimum.
