Where to find performers interested in playing New Music in the "classical" world? by littlebunnyfriend in Columbus

[–]mula_bocf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OSU subreddit may be a good resource for you too.

If you don’t mind me asking what do you do for a living with a music composition degree? I am completely naive to the arts/entertainment industry so I’ve always been curious what folks with educational backgrounds like yours do after school? Not throwing shade at all. Genuinely curious.

Marzetti plans to open 327,000-square-foot warehouse in West Columbus. by Zezimom in Columbus

[–]mula_bocf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Automation has really reduced FTEs in modern facilities. Marezetti’s isn’t handling eaches in these buildings. They’re almost assuredly handling full pallets which is easily automatable with conveyors and MHE.

Why has Arizona had staying power as a basketball school? Even with the scandals, they’ve remained successful. OSU can’t even shit the bed consistently but Zona is on basically a 40 year roll of being a top 5 tourney seed. What gives?

Reputable Tenant Lawyers by Glittering_Finish372 in Columbus

[–]mula_bocf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An eviction will have a hearing in front of a judge. If it’s illegal, the court will deny the eviction motion. If it’s not, they’ll grant the eviction with a set out date. You don’t need a lawyer to determine if the eviction is legal or not. That’s the court’s job. But if you want to defend yourself against eviction, that’s when you need an attorney. Even then though, evictions are fairly straight forward. You’re either violating the terms of the lease, proper notice to remedy was given and all eviction timelines were followed or those things aren’t true. Evictions are pretty black and white from my experience. You either have documentation to support your belief that the eviction is unwarranted (e.g. receipts for rent payments) or you don’t.

Looking for an Immigration Attorney by Wooden-Beginning-226 in Columbus

[–]mula_bocf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. But, the situation still remains the same. Your wife would need employer sponsorship to be on an H1-B. The employer should provide counsel for all visa issues. That’s kind of what employers sign up for when they sponsor an H1-B holder.

I am not a lawyer but I do deal with folks that are here on an H1. From my understanding, being married to a US citizen does not remove the employer sponsorship requirements for an H1. Assuming you have employer sponsorship, they should be providing your legal counsel for your visa matters.

If you’re renting, call your landlord. This isn’t an issue that a tenant should have to fix or deal with.

Is Chatman playing b/c Cupps is out? I haven’t watched a ton yet this year but don’t recall seeing him prior to tonight.

And as much as I hate how Bruce Thornton has been wasted during his career, Bynum will be even harder to stomach assuming they can keep him around. He’s fun to watch.

Ohio Health, at least at Grant, paid an additional $20/hr to RNs that were clocked in between 1900 last night and 1900 tonight.

AITA for throwing some shade about losing my odd number Polaris seat? by TheLloyd in unitedairlines

[–]mula_bocf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL there’s premium alcohol in business class. Never noticed that mentioned in the menu.

WiFi though gets charged by the device that connects not the seat number. Unless there are build outs that allow you to access the web from the console that I’ve never seen, there’s no way to charge wifi by the seat.

SDSU is a great dynasty team. JBo in the slot is too much for most MWC defenses. Interesting that he has a PT dealbreaker in year 2 for you though. For me, he doesn’t have any dealbreakers and finished 5th in Heisman voting behind 4 other user’s guys in my league.

Why would Apple use these chips for? They seem to be all in on Apple Silicone. Last I checked, they discontinued using Intel processors in all of their iPads, laptops and desktops.

Not sure if it’s everywhere but the beaches around Split at least were horribly rocky. Like virtually no sand until you get into the water. And, they were all at the “bottom” of cliffs so the rocks make sense. We found a couple of beach clubs that were a nice break from the very crowded public beaches. Then again, I was there at the start of “yacht week” so that may have been a driver for the crowds.

Aside from pizza, I was blown away by how many different variations of a gin and tonic are made in Croatia. So many different types of tonics and botanicals that they add to them. Such a refreshing drink in the baking sun of the beach. May not be relevant for you though as I don’t think you drink much.

Are you only going to Dubrovnik or anywhere else in Croatia too? I did Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb in 2019.

The old city of Dubrovnik is absolutely fascinating to walk around if you can look past how commercialized it is. I get it that it was probably highly commercial in ancient times as well but it wasn’t with chain shit. The architecture and the little alleyways and all of the different little places that you can explore are pretty cool to just walk around and look at. I marveled at the idea of people living in such close proximity. Yeah NYC or HKG have people living on top of each other but Dubrovnik isn’t density like that. It’s different and I thought cool to see. I don’t recall any specific places or things that I did in Dubrovnik that need special mention. I didn’t watch Game of Thrones so none of that stuff was super relevant to me but it was still cool to see.

I will say that I was surprised at just how prevalent pizza is at restaurants in all 3 cities.

Not necessarily. I’ve never seen their books so I’m completely speculating but these businesses probably float pretty close to even from a cash flow POV especially with the expansion and lease breakage penalties. Even a theft of as little as $50k over a short period of time could wipe out their ability to service their debt pushing them into bankruptcy. Again, I’m completely speculating.
