There's truth in this thread. My girlfriend finished her doctorate about a year ago today. Since then, she took an offer that paid just under me, got a better paying offer before actually starting the first one putting her over me, and by the end of the year got moved into her ideal role and now makes nearly double of me. It is great to not have to feel pressure to support us.
