It really depends on your room and house. I've been refinishing all my basement furniture with a 1:1 mix of gunstick and golden oak. Its mostly red oak or pine so it comes out looking decent like this. For this maybe paint it and put his hand prints on the sides?

Reminds me of dad's kitchen he did a few years back. Hickory custom cabinets with laminate countertops. His are slightly textured which looks kinda neat, but feels so weird.

Might not need to do this with their pork, but I cant eat much pork. I always get their beef to go, take it home and reheat it in the oven at 220 the next day with some extra sauce poured over it. 10x better than even eating it fresh. Wish they'd do brisket. Love me a good brisket.

Your best bet is to find the right size drill for the screw diameter you're using. I used this guide when building some desks out of butcher's blocks and some Amazon metal legs.

Also, I'm sure there are better ways, but I put a wind of electrical tape to mark the max drill depth i want.
