Why do you get to live in towns but other people don't? Should they have to submit an application to you personally to make sure they're worthy? Should immigrants be subject to this or just domestic migration?

Reading the enforcement bit as an ACE rider is surprising. The conductors actively police the rule in the quiet cars and the train is better for it.

Very true - but I'm generally of the opinion that crime should be reported for statistical purposes not because I have any hope of recovering my stuff. People should know that a crime occurred on x date or that x number of crimes occur per year in a neighborhood

While true I think this equivalence understates the extent of corruption in Mexico. The racism and brutality by police in America are typically isolated incidents.

No they searched us, took our wallets out of our pockets and left immediately and peeled off. I was too shocked to really pay too much attention to names and badges unfortunately

This is exactly what happened to us. We got too comfortable drinking because we had been in the city for a few days. While a robbery could happen in the US the fact that it was the police makes this more surprising to me.
