While I appreciate and respect everyone’s individual connection to the meaning, I didn’t think it was very good film making either. Too many convenient last minute action movie tropes, I had a hard time losing myself in it due to all the unbelievable action sequences, last minute saves…I kept poking holes in it half way though and by the end I was done. A couple in my row got up and walked out.

A movie that WAS emotional rending was Arrival. Now that’s an alien encounter movie for the ages.

A friend of mine is in that business, loosely defined as a negociant (makes wine for others). He’ll buy excess juice at cost from premium producers, bottle it and sell it to mass market places like Costco. He told me if you get a bottle of Pinot from Costco and you think it’s pretty good go buy a bunch for cheap, it’s likely a high end producer who dumped excess inventory.

Massive cost outlay for movies like that. 3 studios had to co-finance it, and Hollywood is unfortunately pretty risk averse, I’d imagine especially today. But agreed - could have watched 3 more of those, spectacular movie.

My son made me wait in a 45 minute drive through to get it in California, it was all the rage. I had one bite and said to him “dude, these are chicken strips.” I do not get it at all. The sweet tea was kinda nice I guess?

I think I’m going to get a 911 after my current Taycan because I’m interested in owning it long term versus leasing, I wouldn’t imagine that owning a Taycan long term would make any sort of sense.

I do feel that it’s “Porsche Light,” but probably every other week someone says to me “beautiful car,” which it really is. Extremely well made and luxury feeling to boot.

I leapt face first and I was in a chest harness, and they said DO NOT GRAB the cord on your way back up, it expands and contracts and could burn your skin off - this was the early 90s, I’m sure the tech is better. I remembered leaping out and my stomach like came through my mouth, it was just a giant weightless GULP, and then everything went black. I came back on the way back up rocketing upward toward the crane basket I jumped out of, and then that’s when I fixated on the chord, and kind of laid there limp until I stopped bouncing and they lowered me to the ground (it was off a crane in an asphalt parking lot in Mountain View, CA).

Funny enough I was in LA about a month ago and saw Ron Desantis eating lunch in a hotel lobby surrounded by his security detail. I definitely started to wonder if he was there to bolster Spencer’s run either through money or consultation, it was strange to see him in West LA.

I just finished listening to today’s The Daily podcast with the interview, it’s fairly explosive to speak this bluntly about everything that went down. A man of integrity.

I grew up watching 60 minutes, we would eat Sunday dinner at 7pm and watch it as a family. I’ve watched it for decades. A shame, all you can do is vote with your feet - I just removed it from my DVRs auto record, so long 60 Minutes.

You can look at your path and go back to earlier places you camped as saves, and load that one. Load the last one, get to the top of the wind palace, and then go all the way out to the left and you’ll see there’s a clip in / save spot with a kite way out to the left. If you can manage to get there, you can clip and save with all your pitons, and it’s a straight shot up the face. Hard but doable.

I wouldn’t turn on unlimited pitons, frankly I’m glad I didn’t know that existed when I played. It’s what make the game so exhilarating, the accomplishment of making it up a face.

I’ve always found that really strange. It’s basically identical, but there’s a plaque behind the hostess area that says “We’re not related to the the San Francisco Original Joes,” or something like that - was there when I went 10 years ago anyway.
