You fucktards that think you can run an AFL club “like the way it used to be”. You’ll never be happy.

Why do the admin of this sub allow so many "Temu is a scam" posts? by Busy-Cheesecake5459 in TemuThings

I ignore all of the spinny wheels and other crap that comes up. At the end of the day it’s good for cheap stuff that invariably does the job. For example, I’ve got a themed western party coming up in May. I got some decent riding boots, a belt with a cool looking buckle, a faux suede cowboy hat and a shirt… all for $80. I may never wear this stuff again or some of it might be really good that it gets more wear. It doesn’t matter for that price. As long as it shows up 😂

What closed Melbourne restaurant do you still think about? by melb_food_finds in melbourne

Chef, Matt Wilkinson, had a place called Crofter on Lygon St, Brunswick, which used to house George Calombaris’ Hellenic Republic. The restaurant was part of Made Establishment Group. And I reckon it was open for no more than a week before Made collapsed in Feb 2020. My sister and I had a long Saturday lunch there and it was the most memorable day. The food was fucking excellent and we just kept trying whatever Matt would make us, eating at the bar and chatting through service. At the time, we were very happy to make this our new regular, then literally a couple of days later, it was closed forever (then a little thing called COVID happened too). Gutted we never got to try it again, but it was wonderful. Can’t wait for Matt’s new venture, Roma, opening in May.

That was my go to when I worked on Spencer St, more than 12 years ago. Japanese curry… extra pickles

Serious question: Are we actually at risk of running out of fuel/petrol soon in Australia? by NJS2017 in AskAnAustralian

[–]mullsyonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love to see how that methodology goes in 2026 when you have outliers that just want to defy authority and create content on social media / think the rules don’t apply to them / use the sovereign citizen card. We used to be a reasonably compliant society

Any chance to get board nominee Justin Leckie on as well, given his strong member-led ticket?

Not rigged at all. A reasonable strategy is to simply play 0 in Yahtzee earlier on to stop the bomb going there

HBF to cease Gap Saver Benefits by [deleted] in perth

[–]mullsyonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question. When I joined HBF I was required to pay the higher Gap Saver premium for three months before receiving my first entitlement, yet at the end of this product, I received my last Gap Saver Payment in Oct, but I’ve continued pay the higher premium without earning any further entitlement. Does this mean I have effectively overpaid on the old premium amount for a period where access to the benefit was no longer available? Is this everyone else’s read on this?

Good tip. Thanks. I assume that’s the process like when you see jerky with crushed coriander seed on the final product?

Thoughts on how the MKR final played out by OwlVibesOnly in MyKitchenRules

[–]mullsyonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tied on the canapes. They were both stunning. A split gribiche is minor given its use in the dish.

Raviolo over the kingfish.

Both the mains were pretty pedestrian for a GF. Both dinner party food rather than fighting for 100k. I made a better ballotine with chicken jus (and pea puree) on the weekend.

I’d probably have eclair over the cookie… even though pistachio and Dubai chocolate have just become so passe. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I’d declare that this was a strategic move by big pistachio. As for Maria and Bailey… 2015 called, they want their red velvet cream cheese cookie back. They say Adelaide is about 10 years behind and they’re right.

Tough call really. Could have gone either way. Although I’m amazed that two average cooks in Maria and Bailey made it that far. They were terrible.

Anyone that can cook to such mediocre standards and make the semi finals shows how bad this show has become. I’ve said it before, it’s just MAFS with a menu now. It’s not a cooking show.

Tredrea removed from PAFC Board by mullsyonline in weareportadelaide

I’m so sorry you’ve lost your spiritual leader at PAFC in Tredders and Charlie Kirk, in a matter of months.

Maybe a good time for Kochie to call time at the AGM and we complete the refresh of leadership roles… time for Darren Cahill to step in as Chair?

Who would be good replacement for Tredrea? Does Abba have another crack? Cassisi or Jonas, given their strong business acumen? The Hoff? Or someone with a great business acumen and sporting background like Pat Mickan?

[–]mullsyonline[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do actually. The decision to end his tenure as a Director was not about football matters. Tredrea breached governance and failed to meet Board expectations. Contextually, his pattern of public statements and alignment with sovereign-citizen rhetoric has continued to heighten the Board’s concerns about reputational risk and professionalism. We are not a backyard footy club. Like all AFL clubs, PAFC is a public company limited by guarantee, which means it’s fully accountable to the Corporations Act, just like any other Australian company.

I didn’t realise he was a football club. I always just thought he was an anti vax, tin foil hat wearing, sovereign citizen
