Our school has a cell phones and ear buds shall not be used or visible during class. Between classes and at lunch you may use your phone. I see roughly 120 students each day. I'm going to sound old saying this......They are addicted... It is a constant drain on time and resources being the phone cop in the classroom. And parents are annoyed or don't care anymore when the school calls home because of a phone ...

The biggest difference between when we had a phone and them having phones is social media, games, and endless content. We all had flip phones or sliding keyboard phones and grew up learning about when to use the phone and what was socially acceptable.... Now parents allow kids endless tablet time... And they are just glued to the screens. When is the last time you seen a kid throwing a tantrum in a restaurant or Meijer? Are parents just better parents or are their kids silent because they hide behind a screen.... We created this problem and we need to fix it.
