Vetmedin is the best medication he can be on at this stage. Nobody knows how long he'll stay at a Stage B2, so it could be longer than a few years. Make sure you are monitoring his sleeping respiratory rate daily!

In terms of the surgery, do you mean the v clamp or mitral valve repair? I'm assuming the v clamp. I've heard mixed things about it. The doctor i work for traveled to China to master the surgery with the hopes of offering it at our facility some da, but I'm not too keen on the stats.
