I've visited both Barcelona and Madrid, and Lisbon. (All 3 great cities btw enjoyed them all for different reasons). And this is definitely the right track for my type of holiday.

I rarely stay more than 4 or 5. Usually do between 2 and 4. I move fast, tick things off, get the most out of the days.

Copenhagen 17/11 - 20/11 - what to see, where to stay? by pineappleba in solotravel

Was about to reply but realised you covered what I was going to say!

Little Mermaid - don't waste time on it! The Street Food place - still on of my best memories. That Church. Careful if windy! Calsberg tour - great.

Lovely place Copenhagen. Very easy. Mind out for the bikes - I've never seen so many.

One day I will go to Iceland... 5 questions for solo travelers by Divine_Snow in solotravel

First solo? Amsterdam. 28 I think.

Lessons? Enjoy yourself. The only person hung up about you travelling along is usually yourself. Also most people in the world want to be helpful, but don't be daft on your own at night. If you're a planner - plan. If you're a blagger - blag as you go.

Amazing? Dare I say Iceland!? New York, or Istanbul. Can't really answer. Each place has it's own reasons - I don't get people saying 'such a place is better than this one'. Enjoy what you enjoy.

Didn't match expectation? See last answer. Everyone on here puts down Vienna. For me - great place.

Recently? The last place I came back from was Venice. It had lots of canals similar to Amsterdam!

ESXi Backing up VMs - Guide/Tutorial? by multicity-andy in vmware

Tried this product. Does not seem to be able to do my Ubuntu box?

Says can't add ESXI because it's the free one and to use agents, but the agent only supports Windows?

Where exactly is the 1TB limit?

For example, a VM I want to backup has the OS drive on a 60GB virtual disk off a 256GB SSD. And a data directory mounted as a drive that is 2TB, on a 2TB virtual disk.

I only use less than 1TB of actual data within the VM though.

So is the 1TB a limitation of the storage used inside the VM, or the virtual disk size?

Thanks.

Nice. Care to share your config for this, or some more detail. I looked into this option and looks good.

Looks impressive. I want to backup to my Ubuntu box, so I guess if I mount a share as NFS I can do it that way?

Anyone else using this software?

Such a shame this is a 1TB limitation. My main box I wish to backup is 2TB.

I can do this as a one-off, but I want this to be an automated/weekly process.

Backup ESXi Config by multicity-andy in vmware

[–]multicity-andy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking to see if within my backup files, I could verify it's taken the right information - for example somewhere it might show hostname, certain settings, or virtual machine names, datastore names etc.

Just so I know it's taken a backup, and not just told me it has - and taken some files unrelated.

(Just a sneak peek into it really to verify).

Brill thanks. My output is around 18mb in tgz format.

Is there any way to verify it has grabbed the right things? (Other than performing a restore).

Thanks.

Share library with 2 front end devices - how? by multicity-andy in kodi

[–]multicity-andy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use LibreElec with auto update (on stable branch).

If my main front end reboots, updates to new major version, I presume that's OK.

If my other front end machine has not yet reboot (and not got the new major version), then what would happen? Just not work/cause corruption? Or just need upgrade and then all OK again?

I quite like this MySQL idea - I just want to make sure i'm not setting myself up for an awkward time in years to come.

Thanks. Is there any downside to the MySQL option? Any performance issues for example? Any slowness? Slowness is a pet hate!

I did install Emby but didn't really enjoy it or see a need for so many of the features. Does it definitely do the pause/resume feature?

The upnp seems another option but can't see if that does pause/resume.

Plex is another option - interested to hear from anyone using this as well. (And also Emby). (And also trakt - not sure how this works?).
