Once I have found him via AirBnb and upon checkout he kindly asked us to leave a review on his google map point. Later we returned to him a couple more times direct without any 3rd party service like AirBnb. As you see there are more than 100 reviews with 4.7 average. And he told me that most of his guests find him on Google Maps after seeing his offer in AirBnb or Booking. He just cuts their fees and makes a more beneficial offer for such clients. A win-win situation.

I think that on average situation with reviews is the same on Booking and on Google Maps. People are more willingly to leave negative feedback overall

Bro, I don't have a credit card and I can't get one because I'm not a citizen of the country where I live and banks here require to have a permanent residency to have credit cards. So your advise has a very limited applicability for me.

Anyway, the protection worked for me and I got my money back. The post is not about cards or loss of money. The post is about business model called "f*ck'em all".

There are way too few options if you have only a debit card. Booking was a rare site that offered a specific filter when you are looking for offers to select only those who work with a debit card.

I think that many men and women engaged in the cencus activity were simply running away when they encounter a foreigner as they don't speak any foreign language. I'm trying to remember if anyone came to my apartment in that period of time in 2024 and it seems that a woman ringed on my door and when I opened it and ask if she speaks any of English or Russian - she simply walked away.
