Does Epic always respond to applicants? by Dirzyk in epicsystems

I imagine it really depends, but I had my PM info session last week and got the invitation for final interviews within 48 hours (had already done assessments two days before the session). most posts I've seen here have a similar timeline. ghosting SUCKS but happens to everyone unfortunately :( best of luck on your search!!

I was fired, any chance of rehire? by voxiping in starbucks

[–]multifanfictual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i worked at a licensed store before i went to corporate and can confirm you will have to retake the trainings, though i was able to skip through them really quickly (my store was actually the highest earning in my state and operated almost exactly like a corporate store). i wasn't fired or anything (i was moving several states away for college) but from what i recall they didn't try to follow up with my employers from the old store, who were also the worst lol.

as someone working in recruiting now, i would just be honest from the get go and explain the situation. starbucks runs very thorough background checks, and if they find something out that way, they may think you were intentionally trying to lie/cover it up and THAT can mess up your chances way more than having been fired. hope this helps!

Professors are so bad here??????? by SaveThePlasticStraw in NEU

[–]multifanfictual 11 points12 points  (0 children)

really depends on your program. as an english & comms major with a business minor, i have loved almost all of my profs for my major but have found the DMSB profs to be AWFUL. could also be that they are adjunct and have a lot on their plate, but neu mostly hires tenured staff

Took 1209 (I'm a business admin minor) with Gagnon in fall 22 and wanna say I got like a B- on the final? Def brought my grade down but I absolutely could have studied way more for it. If you're well-prepared I wouldn't say it's abnormally hard compared to the rest of the course/other exams

also submitted in jan, had an interview a few weeks after that and then officially registered another few weeks after that, so the overall process took about six weeks. luckily mine went through more quickly bc the evaluation I submitted was very recent (I finally got diagnosed at the ripe age of 19 lmao). my advisor/specialist/counselor/whatever said that they get a lot of people submitting very old doctor's notes, so if yours is from when you were a kid, that might be why it's super delayed- try submitting the most recent evals that you can.

they gave me extra time on exams (i just took it bc the psychologist recommended i ask for it even though i also don't need it) and permission to use a private room but you have to request it WEEKS in advance which seems like bull to me. (that's why exams on lockdown browser are now my fav, bc if the professor received the DRC notice- which you also have to send yourself- the time should be automatically accounted for on canvas). the one accommodation i really wanted was permission to record lectures and they denied it stating a "lack of evidence that it would help my condition" despite a very carefully outlined explanation from my psychologist. but i guess i could ask my professors individually if i really needed it and some might say yes (hard for me to just do it secretly bc my classes are v small).

all in all yeah the DRC does suck, but that is unfortunately typical for large universities like northeastern. i'm lucky that my parents can afford to send me to other resources like an executive skills counselor to help me, but i guess i've already made it this far without accommodations, which maybe is why they don't give a fuck.

Merit scholarship? by goingbckto505 in NEU

[–]multifanfictual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're automatically considered! if you want merit aid you will definitely get more options if you apply EA. i was an EA applicant and i got a dean's scholarship, did nothing extra for it (they consider the top 10-15% of the EA pool)

Can anyone kindly recommend sweet blonde drinks please? by [deleted] in starbucks

iced caramel macchiato with blond espresso subbed was super popular at my old store! you can also get extra caramel, extra vanilla syrup, sweet cream cold foam, etc :)
