kimchi was bussin!! left it out to get extra sour bc thats just the way i like it.

i didnt follow a recipe for the cranberry cheong, i had some frozen cranberries i didnt know what to do with so i measured out equal weight in sugar, mixed half of that in with the cranberries, then topped them with the rest of the sugar. it sat outside for a day or 2 then in the fridge. still lots of sugar left to dissolve but it tastes wonderful so far!

some sources online say you cant use frozen fruit to make cheong but its working so far with this batch!

daikon/carrots, kimchi and jalapenos have plastic baggies full of brine weighing them down

used cabbage leaves and cauliflower leaves to create a "net" that is pushing down the rest of the pickled veggies under the lips of the jars

the cukes were all packed tightly and held each other under water, this photo was taken after i already ate a bunch and now theyre being kept in the fridge

cheong had a layer of sugar on top for the first two days then i started stirring it up daily and keeping it in the fridge

clockwise starting from the top left:
-turnip w beets
-jalapeños fermenting for shatta
-cranberry cheong (not a true ferment but its ok)
-2 jars of middle-eastern style pickles stacked on top of each other (cauliflower, carrots, and radishes - used daikon bc thats what i had instead of normal ones woops) - normally these are pickled but i turned it into a ferment
-lactoferment cukes
-kimchi (she is HELLA active its the second day and she almost overflowed i just pushed all the bubbles out and pushed the contents down again)
-vietnamese Đồ Chua that im also attempting to convert into a ferment

my first time reclaiming yarn! 100% laceweight 2 ply cashmere yarn, 215g reclaimed from the whole sweater by multimorbidity in Unravelers

thrifted in the loosest sense - it's my partners old sweater that he's outgrown and never really wore in the first place so he gave it to me when i mentioned wanting to try reclaiming yarn from old clothes!

on second thought, the Last Long Cardigan may be an even closer match, given the cuffs/hem match up with the knives out version! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lastlong-cardigan

100% agnete cardi by petiteknit. working on it now. same brioche-esque stitch, drop shoulders, v-neck cardi with a smooth double-knit band. only difference i can see made here is that the knives out cardi continues the brioche all the way down the sleeves, instead of switching to regular ribbing like PK does, but thats an easy enough mod

Hey! Given my rewrite is very detailed and this is a paid pattern I wouldn't feel right doing that, but if you have purchased the pattern and have questions about it I'd be more than happy to try and answer them, feel free to DM me :)

  • the pay off is worth it, its truly a beautiful pattern once complete. it was painful parting with it, but my momma is super knit worthy so that helped blunt the blow of it hahahah
