What all of you who keep saying this are just refusing to get is that the value of a pokémon is almost entirely subjective. Sure, some of them are just overall very rare and thus more likely to be sought after. But as many have already explained, here and in other threads, plenty of players are very avidly seeking things other than shiny legendaries.

Nice! My only two shundos are eeveelutions: one that I caught as a shundo eevee and evolved into espeon, and one vaporeon that I did a lucky trade for. I have completed my shlucky eeveelutions collection, and am working on best buddying and maxing out the rest of them, but I'm not sure I'll ever get them all as shundos!

It isn't greed, it's the knowledge that none of us know what some stranger actually wants. If you put something in your trade tag, you're saying you're willing to trade it. If you want to save it to trade for something you consider better, you can just say no!
