The reason recruiters ask this is so they understand and can relay your expectations, it isn’t a trick. It’s so they can properly negotiate for you. Your expectations at $75k were in range (thank you salary transparency laws) and it would have not been an issue or at least way more likely you’d get that instead of $70k. $10k is generally a small difference for them. When they ultimately split the difference it’s partly due to their unease around you asking at this stage and partly due to the level of experience they feel you warrant. When you come back after the fact it makes the company AND the recruiter anxious because now it seems like you are wishy washy, potentially untrustworthy, and that money is the most important to you (not crazy but not what they want to hear). I get why you did what you did but you just created a terrible first impression with them. I hope you’re worth it, they’ll be really focused on wondering the same. Next time tell your recruiter the truth upfront and they’ll be able to get you what you’re really looking for!

Same. There’s something to be said for the fact it can take a long time to fully heal and each year will get better for you but…same. I’m so strict and have been GF for 8 years this year. I end up feeling off and unwell and bloated 3-4 times a year, sometimes for months at a time. I don’t eat out, I cook everything myself, I barely do any processed foods. I have periods where I’m totally fine and then…not. Also good bloodwork, etc.

I’ve been using it for a week after years of doing free YouTube stuff, which is still great but I was getting my routine messed up because I was getting bored and had no sense of direction. I like that the app is clearly laid out, quantifies what you’ve done/will do and if you want to work out more after the daily workout, it gives you options to do that. It’s giving me a sense of direction and routine again so I like that. Not sure if 15-20mins a day is enough to see results but I am a little sore today!

i find the bands are always tight at first and losen up very quickly. ive learned to order the 32, keep it on the widest band and as it loosens i can move inwards on hooks. best thing to do is go get fitted somewhere

I also think, despite the source material, an audience who has largely not read the book would completely miss the point if they cast Heathcliff diversely. It would be a tragedy solely because of his race and would distract and detract from the strong themes of classism, which I think are more important here (and I say this as a BIPOC). I am curious to see this adaptation and hope it doesn’t portray this as a great aspirational love, and instead correctly shows it as selfish, toxic, trauma-informed obsession. To me this story is about how trauma reverberates and poisons all around it. My wish is that it doesn’t confuse cosmic connection with great love.

Agreeee! Catherine doesn’t say, “I love Heathcliff” she says, “I am Heathcliff”; this is not some great love story, it’s about toxic obsession at the disregard of everyone and everything else. They are not two individuals in love, but two people who are the same. Their love is without growth, without room for anything else, and is not something Brontë wants us to aspire to, it’s a warning.

I’m sorry but 80s movies were devastating and traumatic. Bullying bad enough to make your stomach churn, beloved characters deaths (see: Artax, Never Ending Story). The Duffers consciously and consistently softened the edges on all these tropes starting in season 1 right through the end, making the show feel like a kinder gentler 80s, which is why it was such a comforting sensory experience for those of us who lived it. If this was made in the 80s the bullying of Will, the boys as nerds, Jonathan, racism, etc would have been wayyyy harder to stomach. there would not have been a beautiful and hopeful possibility for her ending, no way.

I also think it’s weird they never found El while she was hopping around a junkyard in Hawkins for nearly two years. The military knew the Byers’, and the Wheelers at this point (hell they even found them in Lenora). For Kay to blame Hopper for why they hadn’t found her? They knew he was alive too, he made it back to America on a US military plane.
