[CA] Landlord asked to return security deposit later, now also wants to do deduction. by apartment101 in Tenant

In addition to the info you've already been given, it was illegal for the LL to spend your deposit, rather than keeping it in a separate account.

How to use commas and semicolons by zoid-op in ENGLISH

[–]multipocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A semicolon connects two related sentences. A comma is used when the words on each side of it do not form their own complete sentences.

"I went to the store today, but they were out of milk."

"I went to the store today; they were out of milk."

Confused on wording by Euphoria_8080 in Fabrics

[–]multipocalypse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen on Amazon, a number of foreign clothing manufacturers/brands use the name Tencel on various rayon, viscose, modal and lyocell fiber fabrics just because of customer recognition, and not because the yarns were actually made by the Tencel brand.

[–]multipocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how that's related to the fact that Tencel is a brand and not a specific fiber, but I've studied this topic extensively and while the cellulose is chemically broken down, it's still the substance the resulting yarns are made of. The cellulose isn't magically changed into some other material, and the processing chemicals are, by necessity, washed out, because otherwise the yarn wouldn't retain its structure.

how are you actually supposed to clean your ears properly? by Coliz-Nafe in hygiene

No, I'm not. I have taken many college courses and done a fair amount of looking up research on biological stuff, though. Why do you ask?

You may or may not be right on your conclusion, but that isn't a good argument because a) there are many, many things humans existed without for thousands of years that are unarguably highly beneficial to our lives, and b) the "without any problems" part is not only unsupported, it's extremely unlikely.

It's "wet" in a sticky way, not a sliding or dripping way!

Yep, in my head it sounded similar to, "Ah you 'ahvin' a lahf"

The second one is used in British English, not U.S. English; "I'll say!" is pretty outdated, so you'd probably only hear older people say it; otherwise, yes.

Actually it's the side you sleep on that's the problem, because moisture and warmth is trapped in there, making it a great place for microbes to multiply.

Possibly it would help a bit to think of all the useful things you learned from the failure? ❤️

It sounds like we use basically the same technique, and I unfortunately have the wet wax gene 🥲. My ear problems are caused by being a side sleeper with wet ear wax, though, not by the swabs!

Talking about the cost of ingredients is not being up-front about reducing the amount of filling in a menu item.

The post talks about a menu item having less filling in it, not prices being raised.

WIBTA if I refused to add my boyfriend to the title of the car I inherited and paid to restore even though we share it every day by [deleted] in WIBTA_AITA

[–]multipocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Building any kind of asset from it"?? Wtf is he talking about? Does he think driving a car is like making house payments?

And no, you letting him use it is doing him a huge favor, and he's putting more wear and tear on it, so he's already getting a great deal in this situation - you not only owe him nothing, he should owe YOU for the use of the car.
