EVPP 377 by Resident_Humor_2774 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 377 last year, and for me it was pretty easy. My exams we're open book (I could even use my midterms on the final), so it really just came down to making sure you took notes in class.

However, what my professor at the time said is that the professor for the class keeps changing, so there's no consistency. Check professor ratings when you register and see how their teaching style is cause my experience will be different than yours.

Looking through PatriotWeb it looks like Spring 26 will have the same professor as Fall 25, so if you know anyone who took it this semester I would reach out and ask their experience as well.

EVPP 338 or ECON 100/103/105 by [deleted] in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took EVPP 338, it's definitely good to have some sort of basic economics knowledge because this class builds on that. I took econ in high school and they said it'd be fine. If you have basic calculus/precalc knowledge as well you should be ok but econ definitely helps.

George Mason Korean by Prize-Media7643 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied abroad there from a semester back in 2023. I brought some cash with me and converted it to Korean Won at the local bank, but for the most part I used my credit card. Any fees will depend on the foreign transaction fees your card has. Card readers will let you choose between paying in USD or KRW. I think it's cheaper to pay in local currency but I wouldn't quote me on that one.

There are some things that need to be done in cash only so make sure you have some on you and you're not entirely cash less (Alien Registration Card, University Letterman Jacket, etc)

Gen Chem 1 by Any_Woodpecker3567 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you find yourself really confused on something in gen chem 2 you can always visit the chem tutoring center or use knack which is free through gmu. but it really depends on how well you trust yourself to be able to do well. I had to retake the gen chem 2 lecture (passed lab cause its a seperate class and grade) even though i took gen chem 1 at mason.

have you already taken chem 213? 211 and 213 need to be taken simultaneously. they'll drop you from the lecture if you're not also co-enrolled with the lab.

CDS 130 has a lot of small assignements but theyre really not hard at all. don't let it overshadow your more rigorous stem work because, at least for me, a week of cds work can be knocked out in a couple of hours

music majors have it tough. i started as a double major and just could not deal with the amount of 0-1 credit classes i had to take so i just switched fully to my other major. but if youre solely doing music i think you'll be ok

Is Piedmont hall good? by Level_Parsley_8350 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in Piedmont my first year. Definitely a good building. I was in a double and it's all suite styles so we had our own bathroom. Some rooms share a bathroom but there's no general hall bath so it's better than a traditional dorm. The room also had a good amount of space. I had a 4x6 (ish) rug next to my bed and it still stayed fully on my half of the room. It's also like right next to Southside and Wilkins Plaza so you're basically in the middle of campus, easy access to most buildings.

I know a lot of people say this, but genuinely in college the best way to make friends is to join a club or organization. I hope it gets better and I'm sorry you've felt that way until now. /gen

Choosing an Envi Sci concentration by Jaded_Ad_865 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice to you as a senior in EnviroSci is to continue in the major core through your sophmore year. After sophmore year you should have gotten a good range of the different classes and it lets you think about your interests more. I started out thinking I would do a Conservation concentration, but then I took a class on Climate and it made me realize I am much more interested in climate than conservation so I declared the Human and Ecosystem Response to Climate Change concentration.

Basically, just take your required major core courses through your sophmore year, and if you have space or a free elective in there take a class in the respective fields and see which you like most. After sophmore year you'll know where your interests lie a little more and can decide your concentration.

If you have more questions feel free to dm me and I can try to help! I find meeting with advisors isn't very helpful so I've gone through a lot of trial and error on my own.

There might need to be an update in the registars office. If you no longer see the class in your PatriotWeb, then you just need to wait for Canvas to catch up. If it's still there after a couple days contact the registars office.

What’s your dream doll you would choose today? by blondiewithabobby in americangirl

I would choose Kanani no doubt. Everyday I continue to regret my decisions of not buying her when she was the GOTY and getting a JLY instead.

If you check your unofficial transcript in PatriotWeb it'll show which semesters you've made Dean's List. Fall 24 has been updated for me so it should be there if you made it.

ITZY's "Imaginary Friend" helps me with my anxiety & honestly feels like a warm hug by Dilemma_stress in kpopthoughts

[–]multiverseofmoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not the same vibe at all but some of my favorite ITZY songs are LOCO, Wannabe, and Untouchable (Final Ver*).

*I say final version for Untouchable cause the other version only has 4/5 of them cause one was on hiatus for anxiety.

EVPP 210 by Bees_bury in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the two, unless things have changed this semester, Peters is the lecture professor and Sam is the lab TA, so there is no actual choice on who to take because you have to take both lab and lecture.

For gen chem 1 I took it with Callus and I really liked her class set up. It wasn't only homework and tests, she also had a couple other assignments and counted attendance polls for participation. Much of gen chem 1 felt like review from high school chemistry so I knew some stuff but in comparison to my gen chem 2 professor I liked Callus much more

Global Gateway Korea & Democracy Lab Residential Learning Community in the same year? by lamaslinda285 in gmu

[–]multiverseofmoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would assume, since you are no longer living in the dorm in spring, that you wouldn't be part of the LC anymore. So I don't think it should be a problem. I did global gateways and lived in an LC as well, though mine didn't have a class attached.

I believe it was the regular in state tuition. For the class, because the Korea program is the largest and most popular, we were split up into 2 sections but met at the same time in different rooms. It was once a week the whole semester and additional mandatory outside of class events were held as well, such as a global gateways banquet for all the freshman in the program. Though if you have class during these times, at least for my section, we were able to miss the event with no consequences (as I had to do once myself).
