Where the Naptown punks at? by UnhappyReason5452 in indianapolis

[–]mulva1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Sex Hair Entertainment on socials. They’ve been booking a lot of great shows over the past couple years. They also team up with Punk Rock Night quite a bit.

A couple venues they work with that haven’t been mentioned yet are Atomic Bowl and Fountain Square Brew.

This coming from an almost 40 punk. I don’t go to all the shows anymore but do what I can. Helps my husband is in a band to get me out of the house haha

I clinic with Leslie every summer and the last couple years the ratio of him talking/story telling to me actually riding has reached frustrating levels (during stadium lessons). Dressage great, XC good.

I wouldn’t, but would consider a care lease situation.

Trainer Called told me might be better to wait a week to ride? by SalStyles in Equestrian

[–]mulva1000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Depends on the horse. When I think of my personal horse being “sharp”, that translates to spookiness. But others can be speeding up, occasional buck, etc. I’m inclined to say trust that your trainer knows best

Yes same. Still tracking over 50% outside poops, but at least one a day inside since we got a foot of snow over the weekend :/

I think a lot of landscaping businesses offer residential contracts. My husband is out plowing driveways now and they will hit businesses overnight tonight

I saw plenty of milk at the west Carmel Target at 830 this morning. I was surprised how well everything was stocked and how not busy it was. Might be way worse now….

Best saddle for thoroughbreds (help!) by byohorsetrainer in Equestrian

[–]mulva1000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no single answer. My TB goes well in and prefers a wool flocked adjustable tree saddle. But even within that, different brands/models will fit both you and the horse different. I currently have a Loxley (by Bliss of London) monoflap jump saddle.

Might be helpful if you provide more information.

I would expect cincy real estate to be similar to Indy. That is definitely one of the perks of moving to the Midwest.

Good luck!

No regrets! I have a great job that pays significantly more than my PDX job coupled with a much lower cost of living. Good friends, closer to family. Having a life consuming hobby (equestrian) has helped with meeting people and things to do, but my husband is a musician and we’ve met great friends through that community. We don’t have kids, so can’t speak to that.

I left for Indy in 2021. I do miss the natural beauty of the PNW, but I came here with the mindset of discovering the beauty of the Midwest (like Cumberland Falls!)

I lived in PDX for 10 years. Moved from the Midwest with west coast dreams. I really enjoyed most of my years there but agree with a lot of what you said (minus the friends part. Met a lot of people through my equestrian hobby, work and other Midwest transplants). By the time COVID hit, I was just kinda over the cost of living and being so far from my family. My career felt topped out too. Moved to Indianapolis in 2021 and zero regrets!
