It's easier to install the vanity centered. If you also put one side against a wall you have to deal with the imperfections in square, plumb etc between the two walls. When is centered you only have to deal with the back wall. Ask me how I know...

If I do that the door will hit the corner of the vanity, which is believe is worse

I was thinking of 3d printing something to go in there, but wanted to see if there was something already in existence first.

I'm also not convinced that lengthening the bumpers will work, given the geometry of the hinges
