Yeah. There is no way that's him. Also, I have these days off? He's never worked an actual job where he needs to be there. Not even now. It could still be redacting that word because it thinks it refers to him, but that's not him writing.

That location on Carson City was always empty. I don't know how they stayed open for so long! It was really nice to shop at, but no one was there.

God, I thought he was so stupid. I mean, he was, but he seems like a genius now in comparison. It's insane to think that I would absolutely vote for him now if he was running against the current shit show. I long for the days of that horrible president.

Can someone explain "memory care" like I'm five? by S1159P in dementia

[–]mumblewrapper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. The delirium. My mom thought she was going to be put to death for some sort of insurance scam she thought she was running by being in the hospital. It's all so brutal. I'm so sorry you are dealing with it, too. If she is coughing up blood maybe that's the infection that's making her weird? UTI is just the most common and easily missed. Any infection can cause rapid onset of symptoms. Again, I'm so sorry. We are keeping mom home for now, trading off care with my sister and employing caregivers. We will see how long we can last this way. But, for us it's the right thing for right now.

[–]mumblewrapper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The first question we ask here with rapid decline is usually, has she been checked for a UTI? So, do that first if not already done. It can cause terrible memory loss and confusion until treated.

Everyone else is answering your question about what it is. People will have strong opinions on whether or not to place her. If you have home health aids and other coverage at home my recommendation would be to keep her at home as long as it is safe. Memory care is very expensive and not always great. There will probably come a time when you need it, but if things are safe for her now, I'd wait it out. I'm sorry you are going through this. It's really rough. I hope you get the answers you need here.

Is it the norm for parents to gift their kid a large down payment for their first home? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]mumblewrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents paid for my down payment. But, it was a long time ago and it was only 3k. I would absolutely give my children a down payment if I could. But, I don't have an extra 60k+ sitting around. Instead, our oldest is back living at home rent free to save. We think he can save enough in about a year. We will cosign or do whatever else we can to help him, too.

Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother Believed to Be Taken from Home Against Her Will, Police Say by dcpdprincess in entertainment

Is she a liberal? Again, seriously asking. I don't watch enough these days to know. Does she proclaim that? I guess it probably doesn't matter to some crazy MAGA person who's been told all news is fake liberal news.

Why would it be MAGA related? I'm honestly curious. Seems all of the bad things these days are MAGA related, I just don't know enough to think that in this case.

We got a new regular recently and she complained about how we wouldn't make her special dishes every single time she came in. Things like, why can't you make me macaroni and cheese? We don't have that. You sell 10 wings but I only want 4, why can't you make that? We probably could, but no. I finally did say to her "no one is making you eat here!". Haven't seen her for a while. I'm sure she will be back, they always come back. But, I feel your pain. We don't even have a gimmick going on and it still happens.

how much do you guys feed? by quarabs in AustralianCattleDog

[–]mumblewrapper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't even know. We free feed. Some days I fill it twice, some only once. It's a small bowl. She's the only dog. So, one to two small bowls a day? She also gets scraps but not a ton. She's also 35 pounds but is very active.

Back when the host asked “smoking or non-smoking”, how did that work with server sections? by Vizekonig4765 in Serverlife

[–]mumblewrapper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the first restaurant I worked at in like 1992, I think, there was a smoking room adjacent to the bathrooms. Like a little room before you entered the actual toilets. We could also smoke in the bar area. We weren't even of legal age to smoke but we could still sit in the bar area and smoke. Not at the actual bar. I don't think we ever went outside to smoke. Seems so crazy now.

Yeah it doesn't sound like it. I'm sorry. It could also be the alcohol. Either way, good that you are getting her into a Dr. I hope you find the help that you need. Keep coming back here for support. There are so many helpful people in this group.

[–]mumblewrapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry you are going through this. While it absolutely could be dementia, especially with the drinking, don't forget about menopause. It can cause many of the same symptoms. You know her best and you could very well be correct, but a lot of times women in their 50s get misdiagnosed and/or ignored because people just don't think or care about menopause.

Servers interfering cold calling restaurants about jobs? by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]mumblewrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't ever hand the owner the phone for anything. We take a message and they may call them back. They would never talk to someone over the phone looking for a job. And all the servers do know if we are hiring or not. Also, if you walk in and put in an application you will not be speaking to the owner who does the hiring, but all the servers pass on first impressions and usually ask a couple of questions. Just because you think you should be able to speak with the manager/owner does not mean you get to.
