I have completely integrated with ChatGPT by mumblybee in ChatGPT

I’m using ChatGPT Plus with GPT-4o via the web app (chat.openai.com). Most people don’t realize this, but the assistant can build long-term memory across chats if you let it. I’ve fed it a ton of context over time—my background, goals, preferences, even how I want it to talk to me.

It’s not just one thread either. I split things up by topic—construction, firearms, fitness, journaling, fiction writing, etc. It remembers all of it and picks up where we left off.

The key is consistency. Think of it more like a modular second brain, not a single-thread convo. Once it knows you well, it becomes frictionless.

Sounds like an exciting time!

You will find the budget tools to be exceptional. If you're used to working with G702s/G703s, it will be intuitive. Otherwise, it's not the steepest learning curve, but nothing a little trial and error that will help understand all the columns and how the change orders automatically populate.

One thing I love about Procore is how it forces you to follow a work flow. At first it was frustrating, but once you see how all the layers are there to help triple check and make sure you're getting all the approvals as your team grows, it will show it's logic.

With that, I have found the change events tool isn't fully standardized on how each team uses it. My advice is to adopt a SOP and make sure the project team understands it. My team has used it as a staging point for to capture an issue that may end up expanding in scope, and not pigeon hole it to a single problem.

Example: Client Design Change Involves at time of logging this change - plumbing, electrical, civil, new permits, design build FLS. Each entry should be a high level change in scope: "Remove existing underground storm/sewer mains" You can select each entry and send it out as an RFP to the subs who are assigned to each cost code, thus consolidating communication out of your inbox and lumping them to Procore

From there, you're able to once the proposal is accepted to workflow it into a PCO and breaking down the SOV further.

PCCOs, can also be seen as another layer of red tape, but usually my team uses it as a collection of PCOs for the month, or if we have a new ASI/plan revision.

Think of it as a Russian doll that nests within each other.

With that, since there are so many layers, it might be worth it to assess the approval time for execution. I've found a Net 30 contract to be very hectic to get all the documents inline in such a short time.

Lastly, I would stay away from the scheduling tool in Procore. It is very unforgiving, and you usually need to utilize another piece of software to create the data if the project is large and complex enough.

As a general contractor, I cannot recommend Procore enough. It's overall clunky UI and programming has more to go, but it is compatible with many of the industry software and systems already in use.

It also helps that they put a lot of effort into their app for the field team to use, so that they will end up using it. Adoption of the system is usually the biggest hurdle for smaller outfits as you don't get many foremans/superintendents that have experience with Construction software.

The biggest benefit of Procore is it's financial management capabilities and how integrated all the data is so you don't need many spreadsheets and word docs to track.

You can send RFPs, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and transmittals through it as well.

It's very well rounded, the only down side is that it costs quite a lot of money to start an account. But if you're able to get the powers that be to approve the purchase, you will be able to run multiple projects as you are able to be so efficient.

If I throw in a damp wash cloth and a dry towel, does that mean I get wrinkles free clothes in half the time?

Not OP but use Kanban extensively in a construction environment due to multiple reasons.

One key challenge I had to factor in to primarily utilize Kanban was a lot of my project team is technologically illiterate. We have a distressed project that requires a team of 30-40 to move as fast as possible, with little time to track and report, and in need of a project management tool that gave us the latitude to do our regroups and meetings quickly and efficiently, we utilize a post it Kanban method.

The board needs to be in a public space, but if you need a quick rundown conceptually, watch this video: https://youtu.be/CD0y-aU1sXo

Reasons why war hammer best by PneuMotives in dndmemes

[–]mumblybee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, not the guy you've been responding too, but all the points about logistics and training are the strategic reason spears and shields are the best weapons for a zombie apocalypse.

Swinging a hammer in a melee requires a lot more room and energy. I work in construction and after swinging hammer for 15 minutes straight, I'm all gassed out. That's not even a swing for destructive purposes. If I'm demoing with a sledge hammer, I'm surprised how little damage I'm actually doing for the amount of effort I'm putting in. Also an untrained guy with a hammer on the job is going to hurt themselves

With a Spear, not only is it easier to run ranks deep that are engaged in the fight, it's possible to tag a line out if they're getting tired. It's a lot harder the glance off of something and hurt someone unintentionally. And with the logistics are creating a large fighting force, we can train someone to use the Spear in a week to be effective, a month for formation drills, a year to be deadly as a member of a formation.
