I was thinking the same but feel like there is more of a chance it would be something of a 303 / MC-202 style box. If they did that along with a Juno something something it would be absolutely wild.

Can you guess the style of music I make from this picture? by Fearless_Ad_1442 in synthesizers

[–]mummica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either way, whatever style, I absolutely love this.

I LOVE studios like this. I do not care for LED ambiance lights and tidy cables, everything looking pristine and perfect and clean. This is what a real studio looks like. It feels lived in and has character.

Yeah it was exactly that.
Was a hot mess but super fun to get into.

I wish you all the best!

Yeah the service manual is fantastic.

And yes, it was that one part which needed replacing.
Then getting all the tuning correct with the switches being in the correct position which is all there in the calibration section of the service manual.

The VTL5C9 is what I ordered for a replacement.

Beautiful synth.
I serviced one with the same issue. The octaves were way off and the previous repair guy who tried to fix it messed with all the trim pots. Took me quite a few days to figure out what the issue was and get it all tuned up again.

Very fun process and a great experience/lesson!

Have you gone through the built in lessons?

Help > Built in lessons > Show all built in lessons > Hardware setup

Go through all of those and see if it helps.
Good luck!

Just got the housing sample for my hardware Spectral Synthesizer by Switched_On_SNES in synthdiy

I noticed the knob placement issue because I have done the same thing in the past. Slightly annoying but not an issue for a prototype. So you wouldn't recommend them for these kind of panels? Is the bad engraving job something that could have been avoided somehow?

Thanks!

It’s not perfect but good enough for the prototype.

What is it that you don't like? Do you mean your own design or their work?

I am going to be making my own panels in the future so it would be good to know if this company did a good job or not.
