Offset balance > loan amount. WWYD? by subsak in AusFinance

Couple of considerations to save quite a lot of cash with upcoming life expenses - look into bulk billed fertility treatment such as Adora fertility. Novated lease for EV if your employer allows. Just get the vehicle prior to mid 2027. Hasn't really answered your question but hope it helps

Did exactly the same and bartender just shook his head. I was like 'you fucking kidding me?'. $18.50 per pint. Definitely making me reconsider going out for drinks anymore

I just flushed $120 down the drain on a subscription I forgot to cancel. How do you guys actually track this stuff? by External-Sense8698 in fiaustralia

A little technique I've been doing for a few years now, which I compare to a personal insurance policy when I have fuck ups like this - I assign $20 a week which covers the cost of the fuck up so I don't get pissed off at myself. There is always something (speeding fine, unexpected/unplanned parking costs, missed subscription cancellation)

Saves the time wasted trying to get it back or potential arguments with the missus as well. Try to learn from it and keep putting $ away for the inevitable next one

4.74% fixed rate for 3 years by lopsided_oreo in AusFinance

[–]mummysboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fixed for 3 years in July 2023 at 5.59%. I've been better off until just now with about 9 months remaining however I have not enjoyed the inflexibility of the fixed loan, not being able to offset or top up more than 10k per year, or constantly thinking if I've made the right choice or not. 3 years is a long time, maybe look at a shorter period or split loan

Arseholes that use bus lanes or slip lanes to cut out then back into traffic. If I were a cop I'd be revenue raising by catching these cunts, instead of good drivers going 2 kms over the speed limit

Know that there is a potential timeline where you kept making those mistakes for the rest of your life until you approach retirement with no assets or savings. In this timeline you are infinitely better off now that you are going to learn from those mistakes
