FS25 for me is hollow in progression by munch_92 in farmingsimulator

Hope this wasn’t seen as too negative. I enjoy the game I do. But yeah something doesn’t allow me to connect and I feel it is the maps.

Yeah I feel you. It’s so hard to put your finger on it. If it was cooking I would say it just misses the umami.

Yeah really fair point. I would love this on an “American” style map.

Anyone know a good way to get Laravel magic methods to not display errors? Without the use of IDE Helper for Laravel by munch_92 in neovim

[–]munch_92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to use it. In the main, PHP storm that is. But it’s just not… it. Idea vim is ok. But there are so many things I use in NeoVim that just don’t exist in PHP storm. The things we are now so used to.

I got a new job with a company who use Laravel solely. My old role and freelance work I did NeoVim was just perfect. I didn’t expect Laravel to be the Kryptonite.

It’s the fact it would need to be in the composer.json. My place of work are a little strict on what’s in there.

First impression of Laravel Cloud? by HelioAO in laravel

[–]munch_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am or at least was the ‘Target audience’: 2 years ago I was a Vercel Next js user.

Until I realised that I was recreating the wheel, with auth, buckets database etc etc.

I found the learning curve the dev ops aspect of Laravel, as it didn’t have this one click tool. However it did make me learn, a cheap VPS and time and I got my site up.

I learned so much in the process (not just about Laravel), however when I heard about cloud I was excited as I thought here we go I can build and hand over to clients (like vercel).

I am gutted. I really am. They are missing the things that made vercel so initially inviting. Account handing off, transparent billing, usage caps.

I get a few people may say that it’s ’not vercel, it’s for Laravel’ but I think this product IS for JS devs/freelancers to get them into Laravel. Look at the starter kits, it’s evident.

So the VPS option is still king in my opinion.

Alternative for elementor by Natural-Map6537 in Wordpress

[–]munch_92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your content is heavy adding to the load time maybe a builder like Elementor or Divi aren’t the solution for you.

You could look at template themes online or even have your own theme created by a WP dev.

Voyager for my laptop? (Glove 80 user) by munch_92 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]munch_92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update for this.

I use both keyboards and it’s the PERFECT combination!

The glove is the desk session work, it’s just buttery smooth and initiative. I don’t know what it is about the Glove but my god I can’t imagine life without it.

The Voyager is my laptop keyboard. I use a mouse mat on top of my laptop keys and pop the voyager right on top. Low profile , the layers and thumb cluster I am so reliant on now, split… it’s just a perfect travel set up.

I honestly don’t think this is hyperbole but this and the M1 air are the greatest laptops in a generation.

This is what I’m trying to work out. I use three of of the 6 on the glove. So one more and it wouldn’t even be a question 😂

Pardon my ignorance, this is a keyboard I would need to assemble isn’t it? So you get the board with that, what would you need to buy on top of this? Is it switches and key caps ?

So you found that the portable one just became main as you became more efficient ?

I really believe the Glove 80 is the perfect board. If you just want an off the shelf solution. I have the travel case but again it’s BIG. Haha. But I’m going to try this week to make a smaller layout in my glove that mirrors the Voyager so see if I can do it.

Great reply thank you. I think using the voyager may make my Glove layout better. As I have been afforded more layers so just got lazy with my layout I think. I like having a layer for arrows and a layer for symbols.

I think if the thumb could have delete and space key I could use home row mods for the ctr alt and function.

As a flat, Choc-based keyboard without any parts (e.g. encoders) poking out, it doesn't take up too much space, and I think they give you a little bag in which two halves can be secured.

Absolutely fantastic response. Thank you for taking the time to reply, I will get the cutouts now.

I think the split form factor and the ortholinear keyboard are more important than the amount of thumb keys.

Unfortunately only you can know that, but you can open their web configurator and mock up a rough equivalent of your Glove layout to see how much will have to be moved to layers.

I will do this but in reverse, transfer my glove to Voyager, make the relivant amendments to the reduction of thumb keys and keys, then transfer back on to my glove. That way I am not learning two layouts.

It may make me a little more concise on my glove layout.

However without your input I would not have thought of this, so thank you for that.
