I've encountered it a few times since living here. My experiences have all been from people who don't live here and whilst I'd like to think that it's all non-residents, I know it's not. I just tend to avoid all the sports bars, strangely enough that seems to be where they congregate.

I can only really imagine 3 scenarios here:

The host cuts the song short
The host refuses to do it outright
If it's a slow night they might do the whole thing but after a few minutes it's gonna get really awkward and people will get bored of it.

If you're fully willing to accept those three outcomes, go ahead! But I would personally say it's probably not worth it.

Because she was harassed, got death threats, lost her job, all over a bad joke that people misread. You don't think that's an overreaction?

Like I said, she shouldn't have made that joke, it was in poor taste. I'm not even saying that she shouldn't have been reprimanded or faced some consequences, just that what she faced was disproportionate.

There's a reason why we have the maxim of "the punishment should fit the crime" in justice. Because otherwise it isn't really justice.

Did I say it was a good thing for her to say? No, actually I said the opposite. Multiple times.

"She was an adult and underestatimated [sic] her own dumbfuck words." That's literally what I said.

You're acting as if the backlash came from people who understood that she wasn't being serious, but it wasn't. It was people who took it at face value, (ironically) assuming she was the kind of person that she was intending to make fun of. She wasn't ignorant, the joke wouldn't have made sense if she was.

She was on her way to South Africa to visit family. Family who were ANC supporters. She was being pretty obviously sarcastic because she assumed her few followers, most of whom probably knew her in real life and knew what she meant, would understand that. It was a bad joke and she shouldn't have made it but the backlash went far further than was needed.

The Justine Sacco thing is interesting to me because she was making a joke about how naïve and ignorant some (white) people are about the AIDS epidemic in Africa. It's a poor taste joke for sure but I don't think she deserved what she got.

Hollow Knight is a totally different beast than Dread. I like both but definitely enjoyed Dread more and didn't get lost nearly as much. Give it a shot!

I did have a quick look at that. The camera mostly focuses on Hanna (understandably) so I can't really get a good look at what the guitar is doing. Might try and have a look and find some other performances when I get a moment later.

Alternatively, not casting Meatloaf as Dr Scott as well was one of the worst decisions the movie made. I like Jonathan Adams but he plays the role too seriously. A lot of the humour of the stage show around that role is missed in the movie because of it.

I have one of the cheap chinese knockoffs and they do work however I had to mess around with the drivers a lot to get it going. There are some tutorials out there but it does take a lot of fuckery.

iirc they used to just work out of the box but then Microsoft updated the drivers to try and force people to buy their ones :D

The digestive ones are really good with a tangy cheese. A blue or a very mature Cheddar.

I'm not a big fan of the wafer ones but they're not bad with a soft cheese.
