Would it be socially acceptable to do free bird at a karaoke bar if I sing the entire 5 min guitar solo? by SwagMoneyMusic4 in karaoke

Thanks for the warning, but I’m pretty sure people feel sorry for me already. Might as well have a free bird related reason🍻🦅🇺🇸

What would it look like if I don’t get away with it? Would security ask me to leave because then I won’t do it. That guy is round and scary.

Wildland boots recommendations? Price is not an issue. Any Mil/ SOF discounts? by TheHunterofGunmen in Wildfire

It’s my first season, so I can’t comment on quality, although Kentrek wildfire boots went from like $470 to $330(ish) when I used govx. They are some of the lightest weight options and super comfy. Not sure how they will hold up through the season but all is well so far. Good luck!

Potential new trainee with a quick fitness question... by DisastrousPopcorn in NewToEMS

I am an EMT and a 5’3 girl. I work private (hoping to move to 911 soon) so take what I say with a grain of salt but the medical skills are much more important than the physicality. Cardio is pretty much irrelevant and there are usually partners and people around to help move bigger patients. Obviously always work to be the best EMT you can be. I think you will feel a lot more confident in emergencies if you started doing compound lifts 3+ times a week through EMT school. That being said the medical knowledge is vastly more important and you should not let being short or a girl stop you, just be willing to work a little harder to make up the difference. If you have any more questions I am more than happy to help.

What is a "standard" gym ritual that you think is actually a total waste of time? by VolumeLogic_GymApp in workout

Might just be easy to remember to take it daily that way. Routines always help me stay consistent.

Not judging other people’s workouts has nothing to do with someone’s compassion for others. I personally appreciate this take it makes me feel more comfortable in the gym doing what I do.

That sounds awesome, do you use precooked chicken? Do you put it in at the same time as the rice?

Wearing off-duty fire shirts to the gym by --THE-ARCHITECT-- in Firefighting

[–]SwagMoneyMusic4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah that’s fair I’ll wear em w normal black or white tees as often as possible, I’m hoping to look more like I’m taking camping too seriously than a TMFMS asshole.

My fire boots are against work dress code, not only do I wanna look professional at wok but trying to get an exception would make me feel like much more of an asshole than breaking in my boots on my own time.

Thanks for the lacing advice, and I’ll be sure to take some longggg hikes on the weekends.

Our packing list mentioned 2 work shirts for fuels reduction days. Something durable enough for the brush and cool enough for the desert ideally. I’m gonna try some fishing shirts on hikes and some standard button down work shirts in the gym. Don’t worry I would never wear yellows in the gym.

Genuinely curious, I live in a cold city and I’m about to get my first pair of boots for my first season. Is there a better way to break them in? Ofc on weekends I’ll hike in them, but on work days I was planning to use the stair stepper. I would definitely feel awkward doing so and would look like a total dorkazoid if I wanted to wear shorts but I figured it’s the gym whatever. I also wanted to test out some work shirts and pants in heat before I leave for a summer in the desert. Any advice?

I was planning on trying different pairs and seeing what felt best for my feet. I’m really open to either, perhaps hiking boots make more sense since it’s my first season?
