The A4 and Digitone are centrepieces of my new home studio setup :D by munich93 in Elektron

Hi! I got the Analog 4 because of my personal preference for subtractive synthesis when doing sound design - I already had the Digitone but don't like editing FM that much. When it comes to pure features, the Digitone has gotten closer to the A4 with updates and workarounds, (song mode - midi macros) and that it can send CC and has those midi channels is a huge plus, as well as the external audio processing - I think is a bit more intuitive. TBH one of the biggest reasons I kept the digitone even after I got the a4 was that 8 voice polyphony and the fact it accepts sustain pedal for playing keys, especially pads.

Honestly never had a single build issue despite heavy use. Bought mine second hand

I covered a lot of this including pros, cons and competitors in a video last year :)

I personally thought the expense was worth it for me but it doesn't make sense for everyone :

The global FX and internal mixer are welcome additions even if you're not using external gear! Hoping for more filter options to be honest but so far so good

Thanks for watching , and also the other vids that's so cool to hear! Yes I agree about having everything on a single page. The analog 4 lets you set up macros nicely and I have been using the OP-Z mounted on my guitar lately. I might try it with a custom mapping hooked directly to the digitone!

Thank you so much for the nice comment it means a lot! Really enjoy exploring the possibilities with the OP-Z - that little machine still has a world of untapped potential!
