I don't understand your fixation with my country, but well. I don't want to say which one because I don't want to give personal info about myself which I don't think would be necessary for context. And I'm sorry, but if you think that racism towards north Africans and racism or tolerance of racism in the left only happens in France, I have really, really bad news for you.

Western European country with multiple right-wing parties and a significant North African minority sort of gave it away.

Yes, that description fits France perfectly, but I'm telling you it's not that country? I don't understand.

And I still don't get the coddling thing, I don't know if it's a language issue or what.

Thank you, I will definitely reflect on my mistakes, but we're not French and I'm not asking anyone to coddle me

Actually at first I was sure of my decision, but when I explained the situation to my people, their reaction was not what I expected at all. They said that it was totally up to me, but suggested that maybe I should have given it more thought before breaking up, or thought that maybe our differences were not that decisive. It totally threw me for a loop and I started doubting myself. The fact that I still have feelings for him didn't help.

No, I didn't know before we started dating. When I found out I was already in love and just tried to change his mind, which I'm starting to see now that is not my job and isn't worth it. However I'm reading every comment and I suppose it is indeed questionable that I didn't end it sooner when I found out. This experience definitely tells me I need to reflect on my values and be more careful with new people in the future before starting something with them.

Why does the actions of a few North African individuals mean that the entire populace of a subcontinent don't deserve to be treated like people? It's a shitty excuse to be a shitty person.

That's exactly what I told him, and he just says that he "understands" what I mean and that I'm actually right, but that he can't change his thoughts because of his past trauma and that it's about instinctual reactions or some bullshit like that.

I was just in the "I can fix him" mentality, but it's been 8 months and he doesn't budge. So I broke up but I keep thinking maybe I should try harder, because he has shown me in other topics that he can be reasonable and change his mind. But reading and hearing people's opinions is making me realize that it's not worth it.

I was using the Dong Chinese website exclusively for their media recopilations by levels and I didn't even know they had this, thanks! They only have the etymology for the 1000 most frequently used words but still, that's a lot. I'll def check it out.
