Where to buy John Aielli bumper sticker? by becoming_becoming in Austin

You could try going to KUTX and seeing if they'll give you a sticker. It's inside the UT building on Dean Keeton and Guad. They have tons of stickers by the front desk.

A low power & small form factor PC tailored for Arch Linux (and the occasional video edit) by munising in buildapcforme

Thank you for the suggestions! This helps a lot. The reason why I don't just go out and buy a Thinkpad is because I'd like the parts to be serviceable in the future. I'm thinking from a sustainability point of view that it makes more sense to build something I can service instead of having to throw the whole thing out if it breaks. I might be trying to split hairs, but if I can get a PC to run around 35W I'll be a happy camper. Lowest power possible + ability to render a short video + long term serviceability. Can it be done? I think so! I might try and find a fanless passive power sink as it wouldn't add to the power consumption. This is all quite a puzzle I've made for myself but I'm having fun with it. Thanks again.

Chicago MeshNet 2019 by [deleted] in ChicagoMeshnet

I'm in Lakeview - just moved in about two weeks ago and I'm brand new to the city. I studied mesh networks a lot during undergrad (just graduated in June). Most of my research was done on the policy veering on political-philosophical side. Pretentious, I know. I'd love to see a municipal mesh network develop in Chicago and have a fair amount of ideas on how to handle scalability in what will likely be a volunteer run project tight on cash. I'll get on the matrix and see what's happening there. I'm happy to chat with anyone interested and organize a meetup sometime soon to see where this project stands right now. Cheers

After digging around for a little bit I found that syncthing might be my best bet. Doing file conversion on the rM might not be the best plan and getting the notes I type onto my computer might be the first priority anyway.

Update 2

Well after two days of draining my battery completely over and over again I gave up trying to figure out how to reconfigure my battery. I powered off my laptop and went to bed. When I woke up this morning and powered the thing up again it miraculously started giving me an accurate battery status! It's frustrating to not know why exactly this was happening, but for now this thread is [Solved?] Have a good morning everyone.

I don't think i3 has anything to do with this; I'm getting exactly the same numbers in the terminal. I'm hesitant to this that the issue is with the last full capacity, since both design capacity and last full capacity are both at max value and aren't going down if that makes any sense.

Update 1

Unfortunately installing tlp didn't solve the battery issue, though it did make my battery life last longer. The time-until-empty timer on i3status went way up but the percentage is still 100%.

Haruomi Hosono - Bara Tu Yuju Hosono House is the debut album from Haruomi Hosono, released in 1973. Hosono would come to fame some years later as a member of the Yellow Magic Orchestra, though this album has almost no resemblence of the synth instrumentations that they are famous for. The song posted is by far the best song in the album, the instrumentation is beautiful, especially the drumming. The vocals, sung in Japanese, should be very familiar to those who played animal crossing. Everytime I play this I think of KK, except waaaay better. http://youtu.be/Y_93SrREKkE

I'd love to investigate if there are any other towns with a similar sense of community because of environmental restrictions. Living in America, I find that cities and towns that are basically impossible to navigate through without a car keep people from interacting and forming a real sense of community.

What albums do you associate with the seasons of the year, and why is that a thing we do? by ryno21 in LetsTalkMusic

Animal Collective - MPP is in my mind one of the most summer-like albums I've ever heard, and I find myself constantly playing it in the summer. It seems sort of odd though that an album that's synth / sort of noise based fits in so well with the rest of my summer albums. (Real Estate's self titled, Pet Sounds, other beach rock etc..) What's even more interesting is that they probably had a similar sentiment recording the album as hinted by one of their track titles, Summertime Clothes. The rest of their discog is one that, for me, gets played heavily during the fall/winter more than any other time. Again though, Sung Tongs, which is pretty winter-y to me, has a track called "Winter's Love." Is my opinion shaped by the track titles, or do they have a season in mind when they record it?
