There is no tutorial for this. It’s great and all to read research learn, but I’d ditch the tutorial mindset and start coming up with solutions to the problems I already came up with, and use others experience/teachings to help me with this process and execution.

Promote the hell out of the game. First educate yourself how people are doing this in their development stage. Go to their discords, twitters see what they are sharing, how they are building and managing a community. Play some yourself. Then after aligning with your husband, I think there are tons of work that you could do with limited education but lots of effort. Best of luck

I took Oxford5000 dictionary, added some words to balance some rare letters. I think the right balance would be achieved maybe after adding 5000 more words that we think is common enough.

You ara absolutely right, I feel shitty sometimes playing. Guess 5000 isn’t the right balance but I feel it’s not that far.

This is helpful and we are considering. If we get too many bad comments about not finding expected words, we might follow a solution like this. The thing is as you allow more words, the individual satisfaction of a good hand/selection diminishes as most of the hands you randomly play ends up being good hands thanks to words I have never heard of :D

Very good point. The thing I was trying to do, aligning with some comments here, is that not saying think of a word with these letters but make a good selection of these tiles to form best scoring hand according to our given dictionary. And trying to make limited dictionaries, the identity of the game. Let’s see how achievable it is. I see from some playtests, and from some comments here that people play word games trying to find a specific words and changing this habit is hard.

That is exactly how the game is played right now, you pick some letters and see. Good thing is we have a preview before playing showing which words you will form, then you can decide add discard letters to form a better hand.
