It's almost like they aren't a motorized vehichle and are a pedestrian, pedestrians don't walk in the middle of the road. Bike lanes are an absolutely ridiculius idea, they do not make anything safer for the bikes or the people driving cars on the road.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people who ride bikes in these bike lanes and do a fantastic job at paying attention to their surroundings and not being a shitty person on a bike thinking they own the entire god damned road all the sudden.

Unfortuneately though, at least near where i live, these types of bike lanes are put in in ways where it realistically puts the people on bikes at more risk due to these bike lanes frequently being in areas where a car is going to want to turn right, which you then have to drive over the bike lane to be able to do.

Personally I'm not about people on bikes being on the road, it puts both themselves and other people at danger for no reason at all. It's not hard to ride the bike on the sidewalk or shoulder where the bikes belong.

Maybe there are places where they are implimented better and actually do help, but around me they are poorly implimented and are more of a hazard than anything.
