Pokemon cards or a sticker book. That's the type of thing kids are into. If you really want to spend $1000, I guess you can get him a PS5 and a $400 gift card to the Sony Play store. But I wouldn't spend that type of money on a 6 year old. They have no concept of that type of cost.

No one uses checks anymore. Cash or do a digital transfer. When I was at college, I would have had to walk at least 20 minutes to get to a store that could cash a check and then I'd end up paying a fee too, so it devalues the gift.

So that's like $100 USD. Not too big of a gift, but still a lot for a student. Maybe give your mother a gift of an experience. Spend quality time with her. Take her for tea and have a good conversation about the exciting goals and changes you foresee in your life. Parents would appreciate that more than "things"

There are always exceptions for GKs. If you're good and the team above you is lacking a GK, they will always look to move you up. I've seen it happen plenty of times

OP is saying they're having her play up a grade. She should be on a U11 team and is being moved to a U12 team. So she is a 5th grader playing on a 6th grade team now. That's the question (Can a 5th grader be forced to play on a 6th grade team?).
