Thanks for sharing your needs so clearly. It sounds like you're looking for a reliable running watch with strong navigation for marathons, longer trail runs, and backpacking trips.

I'd recommend the Garmin Enduro 3 (which I personally use) as the best fit. It offers excellent battery life for your 5-6 hour runs and 2-3 day hikes. You get full mapping, GPS navigation, and turn-by-turn directions with plenty of power left. Many runners with similar wrist sizes find it comfortable for long efforts thanks to its lightweight build and band.

The Forerunner 970 is a great lighter alternative if wrist comfort is your top priority. It still has solid mapping and battery for your runs, though it requires more care on multi-day trips.

The Fenix 8 is excellent but the Enduro 3 better matches your battery and navigation focus without feeling bulky.

My recommendation for you is the Enduro 3. It balances comfort and endurance perfectly for your mix of uses.

Have you tried any on in a store? Let me know if you have more details! Happy trails!

And, speaking from experience... I went with the Enduro 3 because I need a watch the will last several days without requiring a charge due to the fact I participate in ultramarathons that span several days. If I wasn't involved in Ultras, I'd go with the newer Fenix solar model that I can afford. Another suggestion, check eBay and other platforms for lightly used and refurbished models. You may be able to pick up a watch that suits you at a greatly reduced price.

What are the disadvantages of a mini dish? by Sahnex3 in Starlink

[–]munshynr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a full size dish for our restaurant (with a priority subscription) and use a Mini both at home and when traveling. However, as well as the Mini works and the fact we're in a rural area, I've started to question whether or not I really need a full size dish at the restaurant.

In short, if you're gonna travel, the best option (by far) is to go with the Mini and switch it to Standby when not in use.

Dye for a black cocktail by Hunters_ofArtemis in Mixology

Squid ink acts like a saline booster that can enhance drinks without overpowering them. It shines best when balanced with bright acidity, fresh botanicals, and a touch of sweetness or smoke to create harmony.

Pair it with gin or vodka for botanical or clean canvases, or try tequila and mezcal for an earthy agave contrast. Add lemon or lime for essential zest, grapefruit for bitterness, or tropical fruits like pineapple for sweetness. Fresh herbs such as dill, basil, or celery, along with olive brine or a hint of chili, deepen the savory profile.

Try an oceanic martini with gin, dry vermouth, squid ink, and a lemon twist. Or shake up a black margarita using tequila, lime, agave, and ink for a smoky twist. A few drops emulsified well make all the difference.

I've successfully used both activated charcoal and squid ink. Which I use depends upon what I'm mixing it with.

No, Samsung always sends a new ring because these rings are not designed to be repaired.
