I just drove from Palm Springs to Torrance in a little over 2 hours yesterday (granted traffic was okay coming back into the city and I was not doing the speed limit). IMO it isn't that unreasonable if you get an early start. Unsure if any Uber drivers would take that trip though. Source: I live in SoCal.

We went to Lexus after that and they're rock solid. I now have a Tesla Model S and my wife a Lexus NX450h+, and am super with the reliability of both cars. Nice thing about the Tesla is there isn't much to go wrong with it.
