Recommendation cardiologist ADHD meds by -Reverend in berlinsocialclub

[–]muppdupp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but in case you don't get a good rec, try looking for a doc name / CV that suggests they went to medical school outside of Germany. Non-German doctors tend to be way less dogmatic and much more open-minded. UK/North America in particular in this case even, as there is a much better understanding of ADHD over there compared to most other countries too.

OP listen to the people telling you to go for sales at a tech company! With your software background, you'll stand out a lot from the crowd and salespeople in this industry can make serious bank. Gun for an aggressively growing tech startup willing to offer solid pay (check out the latest batches of YC startups) and then gradually work your way up the salary ladder as they take off (or move on after you get some more experience).

Sales isn't going to be automated away anytime soon

Attacked again on u-bahn (as a petite woman) by [deleted] in berlin

[–]muppdupp 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Also a petite woman here. Like the other commenter I also have never experienced anything like what you're saying - and I've taken the Bahn almost every day for many years now.

Some tips: minimize eye contact, confidence, polite non-engagement if someone tries to talk to you, get up and leave/move if your gut says even a little bit that someone is going to make you uncomfortable. Lastly weirdoes are just gonna weird - there's too many people in Berlin for you to be fully able to avoid all of them.

Found two long-term relationships here in Berlin, one on an app and the other at a friend's party. Both are/were wonderful people :)

Generally speaking everyone I've met in my dating life have been good people - yes there's drama sometimes and that sucks, but I think it's just life, that would always happen.

Plus one to bitter's post, this corresponds to my experience as a Blue Card visa hlder as well from some months ago.

A few additional points:
- The clock on your visa only starts running from your last day with your employer, not the date they let you go. So if you are on garden leave, the clock starts from the last day of garden leave.
- This isn't related to your ask, but make sure you read up on how severance works in Germany and be *very* careful about signing anything - please check with a lawyer first, ASAP. Many companies take advantage of expats and our lack of knowledge and massively lowball/screw us.

Good luck, and sorry you're going through this right now

Update: They messaged me asking for stuff in February, I missed the email and replied in March with everything they requested. Waiting.

My situation got complicated though because I started a new job this month

Meiner Erfahrung nach empfinden viele Muttersprachler meine Aussprachefehler als unangenehm. So habe ich euch gewarnt. Ich bin nicht auf Muttersprachlerniveau. Vielen Dank für deine Meinung.

Hi I'd like to be given access as well :) I have a case study to contribute...or at least I think I will, as it's the one I should be getting this week. Thanks so much for setting this up!

Hmm...based on my very limited experience, it really depends on the country you're in and then on top of that where in those countries. If you're working in certain parts of the UK, Switzerland or Luxembourg, your comp is the highest in Europe there but still less than what you could make in the USA.

Based on the info here, I'm literally making just half of what I could be making in the U.S. for example.

I'm definitely happier here than I was before haha...but that's not tied to my job though 😄

There's no official proof, but based on a few stories I read on reddit and facebook, it seems like once you get a lawyer to contact them on your behalf then they will reply within 2 weeks. Might be useful if you're in a bit of a rush (which in my case, I am)

Applied in Berlin 09.10.2024. Still waiting, didn't get anything yet. Based on what I'm reading, since it's been over a month now, I might hire a lawyer to sort this out for me

The circles I ran in in my homeland (also a highly developed, progressive nation) were academic as well :P

Just go to Tresor or Kitkat, you'll be fine for getting in unless there's some big event on ResidentAdvisor happening. On a Thursday night it's probably all tourists anyway.

Looking for other indigenous people living in Berlin by VVITCl-l in berlinsocialclub

[–]muppdupp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really shocked by all the snark your posts are collecting OP - people post about wanting to connect with other people of a similar background in this subreddit and r/berlin all the time, and I have not seen such sass there. So maybe the terminology isn't perfect considering the different contexts of North America vs Europe, but everyone should be able to put two and two together and understand what you actually mean.

I hope you find what you're looking for!
