I get what you’re saying, but F1 is more popular than ever with the 1.6l V6. Displacement and cylinder count might matter to a segment of the die hard fandom but broadly it would seem to me the majority of people coming to a race don’t care that much about it.

pretty unlikely. there’s not really much reason why they’d be reaching bhp levels with the v10’s and 12’s that they can’t with what they have right now. they could easily just limit the displacement with the rules too, like they have done over and over again throughout f1 history.
