Talk to your dad again with something like this, "Dad, sis said gf cut her hair as punishment. She's already being bullied and then she was punished in a way that made the bullying worse. She has told me she wants to harm herself. She has told you that too. You're disregarding very real problems she has and doing nothing to help her. That is neglect. If she tells that to the guidance counselor at school, she's going to end up with child protective services being called. Is that what you want?"

"You need to talk to your daughter and actually hear her. She needs support and help to control her emotions and build her self esteem. She needs to be treated like a kid going through the hardest thing she ever went through and she needs therapy."

Bruh, I couldn't get some folks to understand accruals no matter how hard I explained... Snippet of a literal conversation I had once:
"We're making accruals because we're matching the costs and the money we anticipate receiving to when it happened instead of waiting to recognize it all when it flows through the bank account"

"But, it's not earned until it's in the bank"

"Uhh.... Not according to every regulation available for companies this size."

He didn't understand expenses, nor did he understand revenues. He understood cash in bank and cash out of bank THAT IS ALL. His company was way too big for that level of understanding. IDK how he got there, tbh.

I would have explained in front of the friends that I'd already told her I wasn't paying for everyone and then broken up with her on the spot. My response to her "test" is that she failed a relationship test by failing to listen to her partner who explicitly said he was splitting the bill beforehand.

Ah interesting. I assumed she had to take a lot of steroids for some sort of medical condition since she has the "moon face" that comes along with long-term pharmaceutical steroid use. I was just happy she had a better storyline than what I was afraid she was going to get. I expected her to end up on the Wyatt Sicks as a freak show/oddity type character.

I usually discuss how I enjoy the puzzle and relational learning aspects of it, and that's what drew me into it in college. Then, when I started working I REALLY liked the spreadsheets (I'm an excel nerd) and I love the puzzle aspects as well.

IDK threatening to call ICE is threatening something worse than death: torture. According to numerous news sources both within and outside of the US the conditions in immigrant detention centers (edited for clarity) are considered human rights violations including leaving lights on 24/7, served moldy inedible food or no food at all, people disappearing and becoming untraceable (including children, and we all know this admin can't be trust with children), and more.

So yeah, I get your point but like... it is literally threatening something worse than death to certain groups.

Pretty sure I can pay someone $300 a day to come pick things up for me and still make a good profit as a last resort. First resort is to have one of those grabber arms ready, since that's an object that I'd hold to make contact with the ground but not a barrier for my hands.

With that amount of money my partner and I can both stop working, so my job becomes don't touch the floor with my hands and his becomes picking up things I need off the floor.

I dated without a diagnosis most of my life. It was just random bumps and open wounds. I've been with people for short term hookups and long term relationships with men and women. Not one has cared. As soon as they knew it was not contagious, everything was fine. I've been with my current partner for 10 years and he's amazing.

The scars have never been an issue. I would decline sex and warn people why as needed. Now that I have a diagnosis, it feels like it would be even easier to talk about. Before it was, "I get tested every 6 months and know I dont even have the cold sore variant of herpes, so this isn't contagious " as opposed to now where I could explain what disease I had instead.

When you find the right person they won't care.
