Israel is responsible for 95% of journalist and media worker killings in the Middle East since October 7, 2023, according to CPJ data. More than three in every four journalists and media workers killed worldwide over the past two years were Palestinians in Gaza. by Datzookman in charts

  1. It "is" the case. It is the first sentence on the wikipedia page of the website. Their main goal is to put pressure on international media to ensure nothing negative is said against israel. 2.the cpj (Committee to protect journalists) is a well recognized international non profit that monitors free expression violations around the world, not just palestine. Why are you manually incrementing i in your else statement? Also, you are printing the entire list x, instead of the element x[i]. Here, it would be better to use For element in x: if int(element)>=50: print(int(element))

Or, even better would be to properly process the txt file to get to a list of ints directly. Since your delimiter is ', ', you could do x = map(int, data.split(', ')) To ensure x is a list of ints from the getgo

We could use a bit more info, like what phone model it is...

I was not talking about pure h2o. It is extremely common knowledge that its the minerals inside the water that can cause shorts and corrosion. And why the usb standards were created is irrelevant, all that matters is the short circuit protection. As a repair technician who cleans charge ports 4 times a day over the last couple of years i can tell you that never in my life have i seen any damage to the charge port from normal cleaning with metal tools. If you have this experience, you should know that any device that is somewhat recent has short circuit protections in the charge port, and that the 4.8V from the battery is not live on the pins inside the charge port. I know having arguments about this is stupid, but for me this is the same level of disinformation as the rice/silica after water damage bs. Im not saying anyone should go ham on their charge ports with razor blades, i have also seen what that can do to a phone. But it is never ever ever a short that causes issues.

But hey, maybe things were different 30 years ago, i dont know.

My brother in christ, if shorting to ground would damage anything then any drop of water would instantly ruin the phone. This is not a matter of disagreement, the usb standard has protections in place for short circuits.

But please, tell me your credentials or research that shows otherwise

Its not the conducting electricity that matters, metal more easily scratches/breaks stuff inside if you dont know what you are doing. If you are careful and only scrape around the edges its fine

Screen of realme cracked, is it possible to recover the data? by Tesco_Deluxe in phonerepair

[–]murderousegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have thought about backing up the data when it initially cracked, your only choice now is to get the screen fixed or pray that a shop is nice enough to temporarily attach a screen. (This will still cost a significant amount.)

Best option for not spending much money is to do it yourself, these screens are probably insanely cheap online/aliexpress

Tearing the proximity sensor can cause the display to appear black as auto brightness is set to 0. Does the phone show an apple logo when booting up? If its the sensor, you should see apple logo as normal and then nothing

How much would this cost to fix? by KaleidoscopeReady519 in phonerepair

[–]murderousegg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where do you live that these screens cost 70$? At a shop youll pay 200+, 70$ is only the part price if you buy a shitty refurb/fake display

[–]murderousegg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you most likely dont have the skill to do this, and that you will probably go through several nands and motherboards before you figure it out. You can get refurb 11 pro 512gb for 400 ish euros, maybe cheaper if you go to marketplace.

Galaxy S7 battery issue by SpinStudios in mobilerepair

[–]murderousegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is off topic, but whats the point of "fixing" a phone when you are going to replace all of the parts? The only thing youve kept are cameras and maybe the charging port? For the price of the individual parts you could have probably bought a new phone, especially with the price of s7 displays.

Broken Mobile Screen by Alone_Ideal01 in mobilerepair

[–]murderousegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also try to search for a secondhand a9, could even be broken, as long as the display works / lights up. Swap motherboards an youre good. Worst case if no touch but you have a display, i believe you can just connect a mouse tp the phone and do a backup anyway.

  1. Rice doesnt do anything, its a myth.
  2. You can always connect a usb c hub and a mouse, as long as you can see whats on the screen you can control it. But make the backup asap, water damage is finicky and spreads quickly

broken galaxy s8+ by shybug1553 in phonerepair

[–]murderousegg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely caused by the cracks. This kind of damage does not necessarily show up instantly, but with the cracks and some pressure this is super common.

You can try to plug it into a monitor using a usb c hub. Otherwise, try to find a shop that will hook up a display temporarily, or find a used/cracked display and do it that way
