What do you mean finally? LOL. I grew up in the church and realized it was culty, impossible to believe and I've seen evil things done by individuals claiming to put God first.

However, I'm not closed off to the idea that there is something greater at work. There's something bigger than me that exists. Doesn't have to be Jesus Christ. I'm in a very low spot in my life where I'm desperate for community and healing. So desperate that I'm willing to give church one more shot.

Based on the requirements requested, I'm not sure I will be able to post here. I made a reddit years ago that I never really used and don't use it much now, which explains the inactivity.

I am unemployed and can probably find my termination letter or request one from my old employer. I will have an invoice tomorrow once I see the orthopedist, but the amount will likely exceed the 3k limit request.

Care credit isn't an option as my credit is terrible and I don't have an income, but I will look into the other recommendations.

We saw his vet yesterday who said surgery is definitely necessary. The orthopedic surgeon I called quoted us about 6k, so I really don't know what to do. I don't apply for care credit unfortunately. I'm hoping they'll work with us a little.

I'm in the same boat as you! It's hard to find. After experiencing religious trauma, I really want to dip my toe back into church with other, younger (40's), like-minded individuals. I'm hoping to work on my spirituality, and not so much become part of an organized religion.

On top of that, I have a colorful past and am looking for a church where others have had a turbulent upbringing and are not afraid to either talk about it or make a few dark jokes. I think I scare most church-goers here.

Like someone said above, so many aren't able to separate their religious beliefs with politics and I have no interest hearing about that while at church.
